Cougars Swim to Victory Despite Many Out for Spring Break
The March 2, 2021 meet against Blaine fell during the middle of Cetnennial's Spring Break, leaving the Cougar's short seven athletes as their families left town for vacations. Despite being undermanned, the Cougars pulled off 102.5 to 78.5 vicotry over the Bengals. This triumph brings Centennial's dual meet season to an end with a record of 5 wins and 5 losses.
During the meet, two Cougar relay teams posted times fast enough to crack into Centennial's Top 10 lists. The 200 Freestyle relay team of Aidan Gillen, Connor Herbrechtsmeyer, Liam Gulaid, Hunter Belting's time of 1:36.11 places them at the tenth spot on the list while the 400 Freestyle relay team of Liam Gulaid, George Atkinson, Aidan Gillen, Hunter Belting's time of 3:28.69 puts them at the 4 spot on the list.
Along with the frist place finishes in the both the 200 Freestyle and 400 Freestyle relays, other first places were captured by the 200 Medley relay team of George Atkinson, Max Scheurer, Alex Larkin, Connor Herbrechtsmeyer (1:49.19), the 200 IM by Liam Gulaid (2:16.81), 50 Freestyle by Hunter Belting (22.76) the 100 Butterfly by Hunter Belting (55.65), the 100 Freestyle by Aidan Gillen (51.72), and the 100 Breaststroke by Max Scheurer (1:06.09).
