Panthers Smoke the Cougars During Parent's Night
Centennial boys swimming celebrated Family Night on January 6, by hosting a powerful Spring Lake Park team. Even though 76 of the Cougars performances were lifetime best times, the Panthers easily won the meet with a final score of 95 to 83.
Going into the meet, Head Coach Pete Crawford stated that Spring Lake Park was bringing a tough lineup to the competition, but he was confident that Centennial would not be overwhelmed. Coach Pete was right about how the meet would play out. Even though the Panthers finished first in all of the events, the Cougars were never that far behind and captured many second and third place combinations in a lot of the evening's races.
Second place finishes for the Cougars were captured in:
- 200 Medley Relay – George Atkinson, Max Scheurer, Alex Larkin, Connor Herbrechtsmeyer
- 200 Individual Medley – Max Scheurer
- 50 Freestyle – Connor Herbrechtsmeyer
- 100 Butterfly – Alex Larkin
- 200 Freestyle Relay – Ben Condon, Alex Larkin, Ben Loehr, Connor Herbrechtsmeyer
- 100 Backstroke – George Atkinson
- 100 Breaststroke – Max Scheurer
This coming weekend of subzero temperatures, the Cougars will be heading up to West Fargo, ND to chip the ice off of the olympic trial pool at the Hulber Aquatic Center by participating in the Border Battle Invitational Swimming Meet.
