The Centennial Boys Swimming & Diving 2021-2022 season was brought to completion with the fantastic performances by Junior Captain Max Scheurer at the 2022 Minnesota State Swimming and Diving Championships meet.  The meet was held at the Jean K Freeman Aquatic Center at the University of Minnesota on March 4 & 5, 2022.

During Friday’s preliminaries competition, Scheurer swam a lifetime best performance in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of :57.74.  His time shaved .14 seconds off the school record that he had set 6 days earlier during the Section 7AA Championship meet.

Max’s performance during the prelim competition earned him a spot in the championship heat of the finals competition that was held on Saturday, March 5th.  During the finals meet, Scheurer finished 6th place overall and earned All-State honors.

Head Coach Pete Crawford was extremely proud of Max’s performances becasue he gave 100% focus and effort in both of his races. At the conclusion of the meet, Coach Pete said that Scheurer’s preliminary and final swims at the State Championship competition was like spreading icing on the cake of a very successful 2021-22 season for Centennial swimming and diving.
