First Dual Meet and First Conference Win of the 2022-23 Boys' Swimming and Diving Season

Coach Kevin Setterholm

After the Centennial Cougars’ 101 to 82 win over the Anoka Tornadoes on December 15, Head Coach Pete Crawford stated that we now have created a base of times to work from for the season.  The team as a whole has made a lot of progress since its December 2nd and 3rd time trails, but “with this first meet under our belts”, Crawford said, “the team now knows what it really has as it strives to become one of the top teams in the Northwest Suburban Conference and in the state's Section 7AA."

Both Assistant Coach Kevin Setterholm and Coach Crawford believe the highlight of the meet was the passionate and amazing performances given by the team’s thirty-two first-year and second-year athletes.  During the meet, Coach Setterholm was very excited to observe how the hard work that the team’s younger swimmers have put into practice over the past three weeks was transformed into so many amazing swims against Anoka.  After the meet, Setterholm was heard saying that “the future looks bright for Centennial Boys Swimming."

After the meet, Crawford made a special note to the Centennial Swim & Dive family by pointing out that 8th grade swimmer Benno Schuhbauer set a new middle school record in the 100 Breaststroke with at time of 1:15.65.
