On Tuesday February 6th, 2023 The cougar swim and dive team recorded a program high 7th win of the season by defeating Irondale 104-82. It proved to be a true team win in that the cougars only won 5 of 12 events with 2 of those being relays. Isaac Nguyen (500 free), Blake Thorson (diving), and Caleb Cregan (100 backstroke) were the lone individual 1st place finishers. This meet was a tune up for both JV champs and Sections as many athletes were swimming the events they will finish the season with in their final meet. It was the 1st time Centennial squared off with Irondale since they built their new pool, which is a huge improvement from the 5 lane pool they had at the high school. As a team the cougars had 39 seasonal best performances. As was expressed by many athletes, it wasn't some of the best times for the season but it was a good meet overall. Now that the dual meet season is complete, the cougars set their sites on JV champs this weekend and sections in a couple of weeks.
