Cougars Roll to First Place at Conference Relays
In what was a great start to the 2024-2025 Boys' Swim & Dive Season, the Centennial Boys' swim and dive team took a commanding first place at the NWSC Conference Relays at Spring Lake Park this last Saturday. Of the 17 swimming relays, Centennial placed first in six, second place in nine, and third place in two events. No lower spots were taken. Head Coach Pete Crawford on Monday stated how proud he was of the boys for their clean races, noticing that there were no DQs throughout the invite and an incredible performance overall.
A major contributor to the team's overall score was the fantastic performance of Centennial's diving team, with freshman Blake Thorson taking 3rd place and a new personal best score of 177.50.
As the team prepares for its first dual-meet this coming Thursday, Pete spoke to the boys about how lucky they are to have an incredible set of teammates. This year's goal setting session reflected how eager teammates were to compliment each other "behind closed doors" and told the boy's to hold on to this when being courageous at the start of every event, meet, and practice.
The Cougars steel theirselves for their first home dual-meet of the year this Thursday when the Blaine Bengals come to Lino Lakes in an attempt to upset Centennial.
