Snapper Buddy Program Overview
Would you like to show some extra team spirit and perhaps meet a new friend this summer? The
Snapper Buddy program is a REALLY fun addition to summer swim team! The Snapper Buddy
Program is about teammates supporting teammates. Buddies are encouraged to talk with each
other before and after practices, cheer for each other during meets, and participate in fun team
activities together. Little Buddies can ask their Big Buddies for advice about swimming or just
life in general. Big Buddies are expected to be positive role models and share your
enthusiasm for swimming. Same Age Buddies can do it all!! :)

How the program works:
1. Each interested swimmer must complete the interest forms by JUNE 9. Parents and
guardians should help younger swimmers make sure the information is accurate.
**Please, only complete this form once you are certain you have made the team**
2. Every swimmer who completes the form will be matched up with another teammate –
your Snapper Buddy for Summer 2025. Matches will be announced by June 13th.
3. Then, Snapper Buddies show support for each other all season long – at practices, pep
rallies, and especially swim meets!  Check in with each other, make a sign, stuff a goodie
bag, participate in team events, watch each other swim, and CHEER LOUDLY!
4. Stay tuned throughout the season for other great opportunities for Snapper Buddy
bonding!
Please note, with sign up, comes responsibility. It is only FUN when both parties participate.
And, as with most things in life, communication is the key. If you know you will be away or
miss a meet, make sure to let your Buddy and their parent/guardian know.

FAQs
Q: Is the Snapper Buddy program mandatory?

A: No! It is completely optional. However, once you opt in, we ask that you see the commitment
through, out of respect for your Buddy and other swimmers in the program.
Q: How are matches determined?
A: Buddies are paired with another swimmer within their division (Boys or Girls). Many pairs
consist of a Big Buddy/ Little Buddy. However, sometimes buddies are of a similar age. Lots of
information is considered – age, school, interests, # of years on the team, etc. We do our best
and ask everyone to be open to and excited about their match. If there are special needs we
should take into consideration when creating matches, please include that on the information
form.
Q: What are Buddy Bags?
A: Buddies will often exchange a small festive bag of snacks and goodies on meet days. Parents,
we encourage you to let your kids play an active role in preparing any type of Buddy Bag. Let
your child be creative! **Please pay special attention to any allergies.**
