Below you will see all of the important information for each week. A lot of this info will be emailed out at the start of each week as well.
These guidelines are valid for 2025
June 9th through 12th
Welcome to the first week of swim team! This week we will be assessing all swimmers to ensure that they are in the proper lane assignments and groups. Please note that based on swimming ability your child might get moved to a different lane but typically we keep them swimming with their classmates.
This week all of our swimmers will be working on getting back into the swing of things with swimming in the morning. Our stroke focus is primarily going to be freestyle with some attention paid to backstroke and breaststroke. This week is always a tough week due to the weather but we are confident that we will be in the water all week.
Parents it is super important that your child arrives BEFORE the start of practice. We will be starting practice on time each and every day. This is to ensure that swimmers get the most time possible in the water and can maximize results over the course of the summer. This also teaches the kids about time management and the importance of arriving on time.
We have an intersquad meet on Thursday June 12th. Swimmers will be swimming up to four events and no relays. This meet is for everyone to get back on track of being at a swim meet and introducing them to our first year swimmers!
June 16th through 19th
Week two of our season is already here! This week we will focus on breaststroke while still doing a lot of work with freestyle and backstroke. The biggest emphasis will be on backstroke finishes.
We have our first dual meet on Thursday against the Windings and Barrington!
June 23th through 27th
Week three of our season and at this point we will be working on butterfly a lot. We will be looking at improving our finishes in all of the strokes as well as starts for those that will be able to start in the deep end.
We will be hosting St. Charles Swim Team on Thursday!
June 30th through July 3rd
Our fourth week is already here and at this point most swimmers will have a great understanding of everything they need to be doing in the water. We will be having a game day on Thursday July 3rd in the morning.
On Thursday we will be going to Barrington to compete against both Barrington and South Barrington.
July 7th through 10th
Our fifth week is the week where we will really hone in on all the skills taught over the summer. All week we will have some of the biggest sets these swimmers will swim. This is a tough week as we are wrapping up the season soon. There's no swim meet this week so enjoy the Thursday off!
July 14th through 17th
Sadly our season will be coming to an end this week. Most days in the water we will be fine tuning any last details. On Wednesday we will have our end of season banquet and on Thursday we will go to Swanson Pool for the all teams relay event.
