Swim Practice Reminder and Declaring for Time Trials

Hi everyone! 

 

A few important reminders…

 

  1. Swim team practices start Monday, June 2nd. Practice times are the following:
                     

Age Groups

Practice Time

11-18

7:30-8:30

9/10

8:30-9:30

7/8

9:30-10:15

6 & Under

9:30-10

Little Gators

8:30-9:00 OR 9:00-9:30

*Note:  Practices the day after meets (Tuesdays) are as follows:

8:30- 9:30: 10 and Unders

9:30-10:30:  11 and Up

Little Gators ALWAYS runs as scheduled.

This DOES NOT include the day after Time Trials

 

  1. Little Gator sessions also start Monday, June 2nd. It is required that an adult stays with their swimmer(s) for these sessions. 

-Little Gators in the 8:30 - 9 am sessions are:

Lily B., Wyatt L., Zevi P., Robbee P., Kaia P., James L., Hayes D., Evey K., Jude J.

 

-Little Gators in the 9 - 9:30 am session are:

Louis M., Eddie W., Isabelle T., Abigail T., Catherine K., Harrison M., Kelley Anne M., Kallen H., Beckham S., Bear S., Vernon B., Austin K., Giorgio D. 

 

If your Little Gator will be missing a session/week it would be great if you could let us know by emailing [email protected]. If you’ve already filled out the Google Form, or emailed us those dates, then they have been recorded. 

 

  1. When your swimmer arrives for his/her first practice, there will be a bag with their name on it containing their swim team shirt and swim cap (Little Gators do not get swim caps).

 

  1. Time Trials will be on THURSDAY, June 5th! 

ALL swimmers need to be declared (this is like RSVPing and lets the coaches know if your swimmers will or will not be attending a meet) by TUESDAY, June 3rd at midnight in order to participate. 

  • To declare your swimmer, sign in to our team unify website:

    • On the home page, scroll to the bottom to “Events”

    • Click on “Edit Commitment”, then click on one of your swimmers names

    • Click on the dropdown box under “Declaration”. 

    • You will then choose yes or no and then make sure to click “save”. 

    • You will need to do this for EACH of your swimmers. 

**Our coaches determine which events your swimmers will swim for each meet.** 

**You can go ahead and declare your swimmers for ALL of the meets now.**

 

*Little Gators do not participate in meets. 

  • PLEASE make sure to declare them as a NO for all meets. 

    • However, they will be able to participate in a kickboard race before each home meet including time trials (these will happen at 5:15 pm). 

    • Please email Coach Sydney at [email protected] or let her know at practice this week if your Little Gator would like to participate in the kickboard race before time trials.* 

 

 

  1. Practices for the swim team, Little Gator sessions, and swim meets are still held when it rains. If for some reason practice is delayed or canceled, you will receive a text and an email. Please make sure your information (phone number and email) are updated in your team unify account.

 

**Reminder: Parents are not allowed on the deck during swim practice. We know this can be difficult for our new and younger swimmers, but please let the coaches and parent reps help your child if they need assistance.
