Regular Season (Conference)

The Tornadoes belong to the Northwest Suburban Conference (NWSC). During the regular season they will compete against conference teams plus other non-conference dual meets.  At the end of the season there will be a "Conference Championship" dual meet.  The competitor in this meet will be based on the season records of both teams.

Championship Season (Section)

The Minnesota State High School League sponsors a tournament dividing schools by size and location.  Due to its size, the Tornadoes are AA and moves sections every couple of years.  Currently the Tornadoes belong to Section 7AA.

The Section Tournament determines which team wins the section trophy and which individual and relay swimmers advance to the State Tournament held at the U of M.  The top two individual swimmers in each event and the top four divers advance to the State Tournament.  In addition, swimmers can qualify for the State Tournament by meeting a state standard time.

State Meet

To qualify for the State Meet, an athlete must do one of two things:

  1. Place 1st or 2nd in a swimming event at the Varsity Section Meet
