Weekly BGHS Swim/Dive Update - Feb. 24, 2024

The first week of the 2024 Bishop Gorman Swim & Dive season is in the books! We have 60 student athletes joining the team this season. After a strong first week of practices and getting back into the swimming routine, the coaching staff is very excited for the season to come.
 
Our second week of the season is a busy one! Please thorougly read through this email and take care of any sign-ups that you still need to do!
 
 
Parent & Athlete Zoom Meeting - Monday Feb. 26 at 8:15pm
We will have an introduction meeting for all parents and athletes via Zoom. We will review team expectations, season scheduling, lettering and more. Please do your best to attend. It will be recorded and published by Tuesday.

PICTURE DAY - Wed. Feb 28
Team pictures for the yearbook will be  Wednesday, February 28 at 3:15pm in the gym. We will distribute team shirts prior to the pictures, to be worn for pictures. Teammates should wear their grey school pants/shorts for the team photo.
 
Information on ordering team pictures can be found on the Event Page Here. Ordering pictures is optional. We will NOT have practice on this day.
 
 
Declare for Meets - First Meet Deadline TOMORROW!
The meet schedule has been published. Please note it is always subject to change, especially the Championship Meets at the end of the season. The full schedule can be found in the updated Team Guidelines.
 
Each meet is also posted to the Meets section of our TeamUnify website and open for athletes to begin committing to each meet. Please go through each meet and commit. You are able to go back in and change your commitment if something changes on your end. These RSVPs are what we will use to create line-ups for each meet.
 
Commit to each meet via TU by:
  1. Log in to the TU site
  2. Go to the Meets tab
  3. Click the red "EDIT COMMITMENT" button for the meet you are RSVPing for
  4. Click on the name of the member you are RSVPing for
  5. Declare "yes" or "no" that you can attend the meet
    • If you have a special circumstance where you might be late, need to leave early, or anything else the coaches need to know, = elaborate accordingly in the notes field
  6. Click "Save changes"
Note the deadline to sign up for our first meet, the Bob Swift Invite on Saturday, March 2, is tomorrow!
 
 
Practice Attendance
If you have not attended a practice yet, and you are NOT a club swimmer who has previously discussed an arrangement with me, YOU NEED TO ATTEND WORKOUTS BY TUESDAY! If I do not hear from you, or you do not come, you will not be able to be on the team this season.
