Weekly BGHS Swim/Dive Update - Mar. 10 2024
The first "block of competitions" of the 2024 season is in the books. The last of the season's "Invites" saw the Bishop Gorman Swim/Dive team continue to try new events and race against a huge pool of competition from across Las Vegas. The Coaches are already seeing noticeable improvements in our skills and times. The highlights of the meets was so many of our teammates getting out of their comfort zone and racing new/challenging races! We also got to do relays yesterday for the first time which saw new teammates working together and racing hard. Let's keep up the support at our next meets as we move into our more traditional meets after Spring Break!
Results from the 2024 Sunset Meeet can be found here. Spring Break Invite results will be posted once they are available from meet Admin.
We have a lot of other information to publish. Please read through the rest of this news blast thoroughly!
NO PRACTICES UNTIL MONDAY, MARCH 18
There will NOT be any Gorman swim practices March 11-15 for Spring Break. We will resume our regular practice schedule on March 18.
The coaches
STRONGLY encourage you all to swim over break. Go do laps at your local pool. Stay active. Do something over break so when we come back, we can pick up where we left off. Email Coach Michael if you would like him to send you some workouts to do.
Upcoming Meet Commitment Deadline: Week 3 vs Faith Lutheran - Sun. March 17
If you haven't already, please log into your TU account and commit to our next meet vs Faith Lutheran. This is the first "regular" meet of the season. The sign up deadline is Sunday, March 17! I will verify with the athletes at practice or via text after Spring Break. While you are logged in, go through the rest of the season and commit to the remaining meets. You can always change your commitment if something comes up.
Reminder all student athletes must compete at over half of our meets to receive a Varsity Letter.

Meet Results & Times Database
A huge benefit of using TeamUnify as our team website is the times database feature. All meet results will be uploaded to this website following our meets so you can track your times and improvements. Yesterday's meet is already uploaded. The coaches have added a meet called "2024 Season Practice Times" where we are adding all times that we record in practice. If you were at the practices where we did time trials, your results will be upload throughout the season. We will do the same for splits taken at the meets. If you were on the team in the past, you can access your old times as well.
To access your results:
- Log into your account
- In the toolbar on the left side of the screen, go to "My Account"
- "My Meet Results"
- This will bring you to a menu with a variety of ways to see your swims
