Weekly BGHS Swim/Dive Update - April 3, 2023

This past Saturday, the Gaels took on Arbor View High School in our second dual meet of the season. Unfortunately, due to an area Meet Admin shortage, we still don't have the final results from the meet. As soon as we receive them, we will post them to TeamUnify.
 
That said, the Coaching Staff is very pleased with our performances! Even coming off a training week where we really pushed the swimmers in practices, they all stepped up and continued to give their best. There was obvious improvement in our relay starts and turns. We saw a number of teammates also step up to fill roster holes in events that were out of their comfort zone... and they crushed it! Way to go Gaels!
 
The entire BG Swim/Dive team owes another HUGE thank you to the Moore Family and Owen family for donating the easy up tents for our team areas. They look AWESOME and now we will be protected from the sun if/when it ever gets warm again. THANK YOU!
 
No Practice 4/7 or 4/10!
Due to the Easter holiday and no school, we will NOT have practices on Friday, April 7 (Good Friday) OR Monday, April 10 (Easter Monday). We WILL have regular practices the other days this week, including Thursday which is an "online" school day from my understanding.

Upcoming Meet Commitment Deadline: Week 6 vs Foothill
We do NOT have a meet this Saturday, April 8 due to the Easter Holiday weekend.
 
If you haven't already, please log into your TU account and commit to our next meet vs Foothill.  The sign up deadline is Sunday, April 9! We will verify with the kids today at practice or via text. If you missed the deadline, please email me ASAP and we will get you signed up. While you are logged in, go through the rest of the season and commit to the remaining meets. You can always change your commitment if something comes up.
 
Arrival times, line-ups, relays, etc will all be published at the end of the week.
 
Reminder all student athletes must compete at over half of our meets to receive a Varsity Letter.
 
Commit to each meet via TU by:
  1. Log in to the TU site
  2. Go to the Meets tab
  3. Click the red "EDIT COMMITMENT" button for the meet you are RSVPing for
  4. Click on the name of the member you are RSVPing for
  5. Declare "yes" or "no" that you can attend the meet
    • If you have a special circumstance where you might be late, need to leave early, or anything else the coaches need to know, = elaborate accordingly in the notes field
  6. Click "Save changes"
