Weekly BGHS Swim/Dive Update - April 10, 2023

Good morning Gaels! The Coaching Staff hope you all had a fun, relaxing Easter weekend. We do not have too much to update on from last week.  We look forward to getting back to work tomorrow afternoon following the Easter holiday.
 
Please make sure you are signing up for meets ahead of time and getting your swims in. We are exactly a month away from the first day of our Regional Championships... and the next few weeks will fly by! A reminder you must do a minimum of 3 meets to be eligible for the NIAA Regional meets and to earn a varsity letter. There are Regional qualifying times that must be met to swim an event individually. Those qualifying times can be found here.
 
No Practice 4/10 or 4/17!
Due to the Easter holiday and a staff institute day, we will  NOT have practices on Monday, April 10 (Easter Monday) or Monday, April 17. The full list of non-practice days can be found under Meets on the team website.
 
Upcoming Meet Commitment Deadline: Week 6 vs Foothill
This meet may be changing time and location! We will know tomorrow and I will send a formal email if we are relocated.
 
If you haven't already, please log into your TU account and commit to our next meet vs Foothill.  The sign up deadline is Sunday, April 9! We will verify with the kids tomorrow at practice or via text. If you missed the deadline, please email me ASAP and we will get you signed up. While you are logged in, go through the rest of the season and commit to the remaining meets. You can always change your commitment if something comes up.
 
Arrival times, line-ups, relays, etc will all be published at the end of the week.
 
Reminder all student athletes must compete at over half of our meets to receive a Varsity Letter.
 
Commit to each meet via TU by:
  1. Log in to the TU site
  2. Go to the Meets tab
  3. Click the red "EDIT COMMITMENT" button for the meet you are RSVPing for
  4. Click on the name of the member you are RSVPing for
  5. Declare "yes" or "no" that you can attend the meet
    • If you have a special circumstance where you might be late, need to leave early, or anything else the coaches need to know, = elaborate accordingly in the notes field
  6. Click "Save changes"
