Mark Sullivan Head Coach

Mark serves as the Mason Swim Director, a physical education teacher at Mason High School, the Head Coach of the Mason High School Swim Team and the Varsity group coach.  As director of Mason swimming, he is responsible for integrating all the different swim and dive programs that use the Mason competition pool.  Mark also headed efforts to start a diving program, middle school program, and the high school water polo team. In 2014 he led the Girls Water Polo Team to it's first ever State Championship. Born and raised in Akron, Mark graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1980.  He coached in the Youngstown area for three years, then moved on to coach St. Xavier High School from 1983-1988.  He then moved to Sycamore school district and was Head High School Coach for 15 years where he led the Sycamore High School girls to the State Championship in 1992.  He transferred to the Mason School district in the fall of 2003.  Mark resides in Mason with his wife Jackie and has four grown children.

Feliz Hall Swim Coach

Feliz started her swimming career at the age of 10 for MAST.  While swimming with MAST, Feliz assisted and served as coach over various groups and also taught swim lessons to children.  During her high school career, she held numerous records both with MAST and with Milford High School, All GMC honors in multiple events, was an Ohio State Finalist and High School All American for Water Polo.  She attended Westminster College on a scholarship for both academics and sports, where she was part of the undefeated women's swim team.  While at Westminster, Feliz participated as one of the instructors during the swim camp held by the college.  She graduated cum laude with her B.S. in Business Administration.  Upon returning to Cincinnati in 2005, she took both a position with the Mason Manta Rays assisting with groups from Pups to what is now High Performance, while also serving as Milford High School's Junior Varsity Coach.  During this time, Feliz gave lessons to both children with special needs, as well as triathletes who needed stroke instruction.  In 2008, she accepted the positions of the Master's and SwimFit coach.  She also served as the Water Moccassins Head Coach, helping move the team back to D1.  Soon after she joined the Mason High School's water polo team as an assistant coach.  Feliz resides in Sharonville with her husband Bobby, and their two children, daughter Aurelia (Auri) and son Jace.

Heather Shooner Swim Coach
Heather began her swimming career at age 4 in Pennsylvania. At age 7, when her family moved to West Chester, OH, Heather continued her swimming career with both Lakota Hills and Countryside YMCA. While at CY, she enjoyed competing at both the Short Course and Long Course National Championships. Heather also represented Lakota High School and was a four time state qualifier in the 500 free. She graduated from Xavier University in 1999 with a Bachelor's in Social Work.
 
Heather began teaching swim lessons to children of all ages and abilities at age 16.  She has now taught for over 20 years both privately and through the YMCA, Red Cross, and SwimAmerica programs. Heather began her coaching career when she accepted the head coach position for the LH Wavemakers in 2010. Heather grew to love coaching as much as she loved swimming and she joined the coaching staff for the Manta Rays in 2011 for the 9-10 age group. In continued growth as a coach, she decided to join the Comets in 2015. Coaching the JV team has been a rewarding experience. 
 
In her spare time, outside of work and coaching, Heather enjoys cooking, road trips, music, entertaining, and reading. She resides in Liberty Township with her husband Joe, and two children, Levi and Audrey.

Mike Tomes Swim Coach - Volunteer

Michael Tomes is a Master's graduate from the University of Buffalo in 2009 in Exercise Science.  From 2007-2009, he worked for the UB Bulls as their Graduate Assistant swim coach.  While in Buffalo, Mike also coached for UB Amherst Swim Club as the Head Senior Group Coach.  From 2009-2013, Mike coach for the Mason Manta Rays as the head coach of the Gold group, working with swimmers age 10-15, and help when needed to coach the High Performance group with Ken Heis.  Mike's coaching philosophy is positive, uplifting and motivational to teach children the core values needed to succeed in life through the sport of swimming.  As a swimmer, Mike swam for the University of Evansville for two years and swam his junior and senior year at The Ohio State University.  Mike grew up in the Cincinnati area and was a swimmer for the Anderson Barracudas and Anderson High School.  Mike is happily married to Ginger Tomes and has a daughter named Annabelle and son named Grift, with twins on the way early 2017!  Mike works full time for Humana Insurance company.
