What better way for your kids to spend their summer than in the pool… in the morning!  The Fairway Swim Team starts Tuesday after Memorial Day and ends in mid-July.  The Fins is a recreational team that competes against other local Kansas cities.  The team is split into a competitive and pre-competitive team.

  • Competitive practices take place every weekday morning for swimmers  12 years old and up from 7:00-8:15 a.m. and from 7:45-8:45 a.m. for swimmers 11 and under with Thursday night meets.  The competitive team’s focus is on stroke refinement and efficiency.  Each member of the competitive team must be able to swim two lengths of the pool using a competitive stroke without stopping, touching the bottom or exhibiting undo stress.
  • Pre-competitive team practices take place every weekday morning from either 7:45-8:45 a.m. or 8:45-9:45 a.m. with Saturday morning meets.  Each practice time is limited to 50 participants.  This team focuses on stroke development, as well as building endurance.  Each swimmer must be able to swim one length of the pool without stopping or touching the bottom.
  • Both teams share a main goal...have fun.

The team is always looking for volunteers to help out with a large variety of tasks.  If you or someone you know is interested in getting involved in Fairway, this is a great opportunity.  Spend some time outdoors and help the children living in your community.  Early Bird registration ends Memorial Day.
