Do I need to be a member of Glen Oaks Country Club to swim on the Swim Team? No, however non-members pay a higher fee than Glen Oaks Country Club members. You have to be a member of Glen Oaks Country Club prior to signing up for the swim team for the discounted Member Rate to be honored.
What are the registration fees? What do the fees include? Fees vary by age and Glen Oaks Country Club membership. Fees include Glen Oaks Country Club Pool usage for practice times and meets for the 6 week season, 5 days a week of coaching for practices, 5 swim meets, standard team swim cap, team t-shirt, ribbons throughout the season, weekly reward cart incentives, opening and closing socials, and an end of season trophy. Swim Suits, custom swim caps, food at banquets and meets, or other team activities are additional and not included in the registration fees. *A $25 lifeguard fee per swimmer is now included in the registration fee.
Glen Oaks Member Registration Fees (You must be a current Glen Oaks Country Club member when you register to qualify for the member registration. Indicating...”I'm going to join in June” won't qualify you for the member registration fees as it isn't fair to those that pay Glen Oaks membership fees year around. Your swimmer will not be approved until membership is current if you register as a member of Glen Oaks Country Club. Your swimmer could lose a spot in age groups that fill fast)

Are there try-outs? No, we welcome all swimmers at all levels. 6 & Unders are the only group that have a “test swim” which will determine if they are able to swim a length of the pool in under 90 seconds. Those unable to swim a length of the pool or unable to swim the length in under 90 seconds will practice as a Junior Gator.
What is Junior Gators? Junior Gators is a program for kids ages 4-6 who are newer swimmers and unable to swim a length of the pool in under 90 seconds. This is not swim lessons, as kids are expected to be able to swim independently. This program allows new swimmers to still feel a part of the team, while working on their skills to hopefully move to the 6 & under group while not hindering those who already have the ability to swim in the allotted time. The coaches will determine if your junior gator is ready to be moved up and entered into a meet.
What are the volunteer requirements: In order for swim meets to be a success, we need all families with children swimming in a meet to participate and sign-up for a job during that meet. By joining the swim team, families are REQUIRED to volunteer 4 out of 5 meets of the season. If you will be out of town and missing a meet, your requirement would be to volunteer at 3 of the 4 meets your child(ren) swim in. Each meet is divided into 2 halves, and 1 half of a meet qualifies as 1 of your 4 volunteer requirements. If your child swims at Qualification or Championships, you will be expected to work at both events. Qualifications and Championships are separate from the regular season requirements, and do not count as 1 of the 4 required volunteer sessions.
There are a variety of different volunteer needs. In addition to the many jobs required during the meet for it to be successful, some jobs are during the week and include: working the reward cart, passing out spirit wear, set-up and breakdown of tents for the meet, and helping with team social events. When you register your child for the meet each week, you will also sign up for a job that week. If you know you would prefer certain jobs over another, be sure you sign up early! Volunteering will be tracked throughout the season to be sure that all families have met the requirements. We are all busy, but we cannot have a swim season with the support of all. There is a $400 opt-out fee at registration you can pay instead of volunteering if you know you will not be able to commit to signing up to help. If you or your company are interested in Sponsorship, the Platinum level includes the Opt-out fee as well as many other amazing promotional opportunities.
Coaches & Board of Directors: We are here to support your needs. If your questions are related to workouts, meets, events, goal setting, and other swimming related needs, please contact one of the coaches. We do Swim lessons during season too!
For all questions related to administrative, such as dues, safety, or policy issues, please contact one of the board members.
