The Memphis Summer Swim League's goal is to promote recreational swimming among member clubs, in a safe and fun environment, and to encourage the participation of all club member swimmers, regardless of their level of ability. Participants of the Memphis Summer Swim League consists of 11 teams associated with private pools and clubs from across the area. These teams compete in weekly swim meets which begin in early June of each summer. The season ends in late July where the teams gather together for the City Meet Championship.
