In case you didn't hear... SHST = 2024 Marin Swim League Champions!
The Sleepy Hollow Sea Lions claimed victory in their final event of the year, the Marin Swim League Championships, a.k.a. ‘Champs’. Saturday was a sizzler, and when they weren’t frying in the merch line, swimmers kept cool by hanging out under shade tents writing 'Eat My Bubbles' on each other's backs, and sipping smoothies. The Sea Lions hit the pool deck donning their new hot pink Champs swim caps for the mixed medley relays, taking first place in 4 out of 5 relays! Zoe Singleton (Girls 11-12) won a triple crown for her three races with best times for each. Hunter Panzica (Boys 11-12) and Elsa Kastner (Girls 13-14) also earned triple crown honors, earning the maximum 60 points each for the team. Elsa’s 50Y Fly broke the Sleepy Hollow swim team record, putting her in first place on the board. Charlie Bennett (Boys 8&U), Baxter Dixon (Boys 11-12), and Winn Olson (Boys 9-10) scored big for the team, placing top three in each of their events. Hailey Bennett and Maeve Kastner (Girls 9-10) both placed 1-1-2 in their events, nabbing 57 points each for the team. Hailey Bennett broke the Sleepy Hollow swim team record for the 100Y I.M., placing her at the top of the board. Nate Greenberg (Boys 15-18) broke the 30-year-old Sleepy Hollow swim team 100Y Free record (set by Coach Mark’s brother!), placing him at the top of the board. The Sea Lions finished the fantastic day, winning 3 out of 5 of the Free relays, and earning a staggering 2,342 points and 269 best times! Congratulations Sea Lions, what an incredible way to end the season!
