Announcement: New Interim Head Swim Coach
 
Dear Dolphin Families,
 
I hope this message finds you well. It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform you of a
significant change within our swim program.
 
As many of you know, our beloved Head Swim Coach, Coach Greg, unexpectedly
passed away. Coach Greg was not only a talented and dedicated coach, but also a
cherished mentor and friend to so many of us. The void left by Coach Greg will be felt
deeply by all who had the privilege to work with and learn from him.
 
In light of this, I am honored to step into the role of Interim Head Swim Coach for the
upcoming season. For those of you who don’t know me, I started as an Assistant
Coach with Del Norte Dolphins in the year 2011, when my boys were in the 6 & under
age group! From 2015 to 2018, Coach Greg and I served as “co-head coaches”. In that
time I feel we created an amazing and supportive team/family environment where every
swimmer contributed to the success of the team. I love the sport of swimming and I
started swimming competitively at the age of 4. I have competed at many levels
including recreation/summer swim, college and open water. I have also competed in
swimming throughout my 25+ year career in law enforcement at the annual Police and
Fire Games. I am fully committed to carrying on the legacy of excellence ensure the
continued success of our swimmers. While this transition is undoubtedly difficult, my
passion for coaching and my love for the Del Norte Dolphins and all we represent give
me the strength to lead during this challenging time.
 
We have amazing coaches and I would not have taken this on without them and their
support. We all believe in the power of swimming to teach not only physical skills but
also life skills, such as teamwork, perseverance, and personal growth. We love seeing
our swimmers strive to improve, and we are excited to continue helping each of them
reach their full potential. Together, we will navigate this change and continue to facilitate
an environment where every swimmer can thrive.
