Who Are The Cottonwood Pirates?
The Cottonwood Pirates are members of our neighborhood swim team founded in 1978. 2025 makes 47years!!! The Pirate team is one of the reasons our neighborhood remains such a close-knit community. The Pirates have a long-standing tradition of excellence with an outstanding reputation for leadership and sportsmanship in our community. Our coaching staff consists of experienced swimmers as well as adult coaches.
Mission:
To experience fun and friendly swim team competition by being dedicated to practicing together to achieve each swimmer's personal best and to succeed as a team through discipline and hard work.
Go Pirates!

Method:
The swim team season begins in late May with pre-season practices, and runs through June, ending with the Nashville Swim League City meet and Post-Season Pirates Award Celebration. Swimmers practice and/or compete five days a week. Our season is short, so daily attendance is crucial to our swimmers' continued improvement and skills training. Swimmers excel through regular practice and participation. Coaches place swimmers in meets to best complement team and individual success according to their strengths.
In addition to practices and meets, team unity is built through fun social activities such as the pre-season ice cream social, age group socials, post-meet fellowship dinners at the Cool Springs Galleria, and other special team events. Team families have great opportunities to bond with their neighbors and in the end, the children establish lifelong friends and become better swimmers, too!
Arrrrrrrgh! Mateys forever!
