The coaching staff would like to welcome every Swimmer and Parent to this upcoming Swim Season. Unlike most traditional sport activities, swimming has been proven by many experts to be the best physical conditioning activity because of the use of just about every muscle in the body with the least amount of physical impact.

Coach Caela
has many years of competitive swimming experience, as well as competitive swim instruction experience.

Coaches Expectations for the Swimmer:
We expect every swimmer to be on time for practice, to complete each practice and be at practice at least 4 days a week. Our job as coaches is to give you the skills you will need to perform at your very best, practice is crucial for your development as a competitive swimmer. We also expect every swimmer to give 110% at all times. Our Swimmers range in age from 4-18 years old, so your actions are looked upon by swimmers of all ages. Being a Sandshark is more than jumping in the pool and swimming. This team will teach you Teamwork, discipline, dedication, hard work, leadership but most of all respect for yourself and for others.

Coaches Expectations for the Parent:
Unlike most sport activities you may have been involved with in the past, this team needs the parents to be an active participant when at all possible. To be a successful swim team, parent volunteers play an intricate role in the overall success of the team. Volunteers are needed for ride sharing, fundraising and volunteers are needed to have a successful home swim meet. In the past we have heard from many parents that they enjoy the swim team more than any other sport, because they too have the opportunity to participate and are not stuck to the confines of the sidelines or bleachers.

Coach Contact:
Because of the amount of swimmers we have at different skill levels, we ask that parents contact us either in the fifteen minutes prior to the start of practice or at the end of practice or if needed we could set up an alternate time to meet. If you compare this team to a baseball team we have players who compete at the T-ball level to the High School Varsity level all on one team. Because swimming is based on a point system and broken into age groups a first place victory at the 15-18 age group, is just as important and scores the same as a first place victory in the 6 and under age group.
