Swimmers testing:  We will hold a swimmer placement on Tuesday 27 May for new swimmers or if you are unsure of your swimmer placement.  This helps determine if they are better suited for PUPS or regular team.

**Due to our contractual agreements with our coaches, we will not be offering registration refunds once our swim season starts. We have an obligation to pay our coaches, even if our season is shortened for any reason.

Dolphins are full-fledged swim team members and should be comfortable swimming multiple laps.  Swim team is not a learn to swim program.  Swimmers are expected to know at least freestyle and be able to swim 25 meters without any assistance.  Swimmers must be comfortable in the water.  If you are unsure, sign up your swimmer for pups and we can always move up your swimmer.

Pups are developmental team members. They swim in special half-length and full-length events in certain meets, as well as at a Lollipop Meet just for them and their peers at nearby pools. They must be comfortable in the water but may not be ready for the team.   As they improve during the season, they can begin to compete in regular events at the meets.

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:  We require a check for $200 which will be held and not cashed and must be received prior to your swimmer being able to participate in the meets.  We do mandate a 8 volunteer points per family.  We certainly understand that families juggling infants and preschoolers are much more constrained than families of teenagers. However, it takes approximately 45 adults to run a swim meet, in addition to the numerous other jobs that happen behind the scenes. With 12-14 meets a season, fundraisers, social events, Spirit Wear, and an end-of-year banquet, there are myriad volunteer slots that need to be filled. Rolling Valley has some great volunteers who regularly serve in numerous roles; however, help with set-ups, tear downs, timing, or become an official.  Yes, we would like your money but many hands make all the tasks easy.

It truly takes a village to run a swim team!  Volunteering is actually a lot of fun – you get involved, get to know other families, and enjoy your time at the meets and practices much more because you are engaged and understand better what is going on.  Everyone enjoys just sitting down and watching but again takes a village and do your part.  All parents and reps are volunteers who do not get a paycheck. Checks can be provided at evening pratices, parents meeting, and time trials.

By registering your swimmer and if you intend your swimmer to swim at any swim meet you must provide a check that will be held.  You can check your account balance at any time.  Checks should have volunteer noted in the memo line.
