Swim lessons help kids become stronger and more confident swimmers. Whether that be for swim team, water safety, or boating adventures! We have qualified and fun people who can help your child at whatever level. Private, Semi-Private and Group Swim Lessons with the Newport Yacht Club Swim Team Staff are available.
Group Swim Lessons
The swim leads recognized a need for little swimmers, ages 3 – 5, that aren’t yet ready for the Shark and Sharkies program and have launched Group Swim Lessons this season.
These lessons are limited to a maximum number of students so sign-up is first come, first serve. Click on the below group lesson to register. Your registration is not guaranteed until you receive confirmation from the program lead. Your Newport Yacht Club Member Account will be charged for the lesson. If you have questions about which level is best for your child, contact the Club office.
Baby Sharks
Minimum age 3. This class is for those with little to no swimming experience. Baby Sharks will learn to become comfortable in the water on front and back, holding breath when going under water, jump in and turn around, climb in and out of pool, swim 6 feet independently on front and back. Max 4 students

Shark Pups
Minimum age 3 but aimed for those ages 4-5. This class if for those that can propel themselves in the water but are not ready for Sharkies, should be comfortable with face underwater. Shark Pups will work on rhythmic breathing, diving, floating with goal to swim across pool on front and back using crawl stroke and back stroke motions. Max 5 students

Cancellations for NEW Group Lessons must be made by contacting the club one week in advance or you will be charged for your lesson session, There is no refund/prorate for a missed class.
Private and Semi-Private Lessons
Simply click on the link below to register for a private lesson. Members will be charged for the lesson through their Newport Yacht Club Account. Community Swim Team Members must pay by check on the date of the lesson. Each lesson is 30 minutes.
Fees

Private (1 child) $40 and Semi-Private (2 children) $50
Community Swim Team Member
Private (1Child) $50 and Semi Private (2 children) $60
Note: If you are doing a Semi-Private Lesson (2 in the class) your fees will be adjusted when charged to your account or when you make your payment at the front desk.
Cancellations for Private and Semi-Private lessons must be made by contacting the club or instructor 24 hours in advance or you will be charged for your lesson.
Allison Plamondon
Hi my name is Allison and I am so excited to be the sharks assistant coach for the summer! This will be my second summer with the team. Last year I graduated from Seattle University where I I received my degree in Interdisciplinary Liberal Arts Studies with a Specialization in Elementary Education and my master’s degree in Teaching. I swam for Seattle University’s Division I swim team for 5 years as a freestyle sprinter. During the school year I am a teacher at Chestnut Hill Academy. I am so excited to share my experience and love for the sport through coaching at Newport Yacht Club! Go Sharks!
