Growing up in The Netherlands — a country below sea level — Cate has been swimming since she was four. After moving to America, she took up waterpolo, which she played until senior year of high school. Each year of high school, she earned the USA Waterpolo Academic All-American Outstanding award, dedicated to student athletes maintaining 4.0 GPA while competing. Currently, Cate is a Freshman at Santa Clara University studying Biomolecular Engineering, where she is also a member of the competitive swim team.

Cate learned about water safety at a young age. She recognizes that, while water can be fun, it can also pose great risk. Therefore, it is important to arm yourself with the skills to handle unexpected situations. In her lessons, she strives to provide your children with the best foundation possible while maintaining a fun environment. She enjoys seeing each kid grow and become confident in the water!

While in school, Cate coaches on Saturday afternoons. During the summer, she primarily coaches Monday through Thursday, late mornings through afternoon.
