MONTCLAIR SEAHAWKS

Registration for returning families will open April 1 - new family registration on April 8! Watch for more details.

Welcome!!!

Thanks for your interest in the Montclair Seahawks summer swim team! Families do NOT need to be Montclair residents to swim with the Seahawks! We welcome swimmers of all ages and abilities. Every legal swimmer can compete in the meets on Saturday mornings!

THE MONTCLAIR SEAHAWKS NOW SWIM AT THE SOUTHLAKE RECREATION ASSOCIATION 5070 HIGGINS DRIVE, MONTCLAIR.

There a few steps you will need to be complete prior to joining the team.

1.Please complete online registraton so we can keep you up to date as summer approaches.  You may pay online with a credit card, or at tryouts - see below!

2.  New swimmers need to attend evaluations at kickoff night, May 29th, at the Southlake Recreation Association pool from 6:00-8:00.   Rain date for tryouts is May 31st.  To be on the competitive team, swimmers must be 18 or younger on June 1; able to swim one length of the pool (25 yards) unassisted; and be independent in the pool for a 30-45 minute practice.

DEVELOPMENTAL TEAM: At the coach's discretion, swimmers who are unable to swim the 25 yards unassisted may be assigned to our developmental team. Developmental team swimmers must still be independent and be able to follow coaches' instructions. 2. Once coach has assigned you to the team, you can pay in person at tryouts - cash, checks, or credit card!

More information about the developmental team can be found here.

3.  Gary from Sportsfair will be on hand at tryouts with official Seahawks meet swimsuits and gear.

4. We'll have new family orientation for everyone new to summer swim, as well as a chance to meet the Seahawks coaches and executive board! You can also find out about becoming a swim official, as well as other volunteer and sponsorship opportunities!

5.  Finally, joining a swim team is a fun way to spend your summer.  We will have 3 home meets and 4 away meets, including the big season-ending Divisionals meet at Southbridge.  While practice can be fun, and we don't have any attendance requirements, the real fun is at the meets!  We understand everyone has busy schedules in the summer, so if you plan to join the team, we ask you to commit to swim at least 2 meets and Divisionals. But we're happy to have everyone for summer fun!

If you have any questions at all, you can reach a Seahawks board member here.
