Welcome to AHS Swim Team
Thank you for your interest in the Arlington High School swim team. For those of you who are completely new to competitive swimming, we want to welcome you and assure you that your swimmer is embarking on a rewarding and challenging endeavor. For those returning team members and parents, we look forward to another fun and successful swim season.
The following information and enclosed documents provide important information and consent forms:
- A breakdown of Swim Team membership fees and equipment costs is included on subsequent pages. The team membership fee covers TISCA dues, swim league dues, lane fees, Germantown invitational fees, County Championship fees, year-end banquet costs (for swimmers only), and the salary for our coaching staff.
- A swim meet can only take place with the help of many volunteers that show up consistently at each meet. These include: computer/electronic board managers, life guards, stroke and turn officials, and lane timers. Most of the positions are filled by USA Swimming officials; however, all swim teams are REQUIRED to provide 4 lane timers at each meet. As such, we will look to our parents to volunteer at 3 meets throughout the regular season and at the Shelby County Championship meet. Timers help to ensure that the correct time is recorded for each swimmer in case technical errors occur with the electronic timing system.
