ABOUT CHSM
Christian Homeschool Sports Ministries (CHSM) was founded to serve and support homeschool families. As the Lord Jesus Christ has called each and every one of us to provide the best for our children in the arena of education and Christian spiritual development, CHSM earnestly desires to come alongside the homeschool parent and assist in that task.
Through competitive athletics, CHSM will teach foundational principles that are absolutely essential for successful careers, relationships and most importantly, a vibrant, life-giving and personal relationship with God through the Lord Jesus Christ by the power of His Holy Spirit.
These foundational principles include, but are not limited to: accountability, submission to authority, passion, and vigorous work ethic, which will not relent despite the circumstance. Our heart is to accomplish these goals in a fun environment while always being tempered with an atmosphere of excellence! Our leadership team and coaches are committed to helping our young people grow spiritually, socially, physically, and mentally.
We encourage you to contact us to learn more about Christian Homeschool Sports Ministries. You can reach us by phone (844-654-CHSM) or email ([email protected]).
CHSM was founded in the summer of 2012 by CJ Pomeroy. Driven by a vision, CJ desired to create a program that could teach athletes how to grow in their personal and spiritual lives by playing competitive sports in Houston and surrounding areas.
CJ Pomeroy is the Director of Christian Homeschool Sports Ministries. CJ grew up and graduated from HCYA, the most well-known homeschool basketball program in Houston. CJ played in the Warriors program for 7 years and was coached by one of the best homeschool coaches of all time, Tom Sanders. After consecutive years of getting close, the Warriors won the National title in CJ’s senior season. Years of sweat and hard work were rewarded with a win over the Warriors arch-rival, the Oklahoma City Storm, who were coached by another homeschool legend, Tim Flatt. It is through the years of hard work, determination, and coaching that CJ learned important life lessons that the Lord would use to help build a successful career and family.
It is these same life lessons that CJ wants to teach the homeschool athletes of today, so they, too, can enjoy success, peace, and joy in their personal and spiritual lives – both on and off the court.
CJ currently resides in Spring, TX, and has been married for 11 years to his wife, Amber. CJ & Amber have 4 children and attend church in northwest Houston.
