Dolphin News: Week 1 Freestyle Week/Dolphin Reminders
Dolphin Fans,
It was great to get our Dolphins back in the water and see the exctement. All Dolphins should not enter the water until training times and/or instructed by coaches to conserve energy for training. Non PVC Club Member Dolphins do not have access to the pool except for training or guest of PVC Club Members.
Week 1 Focus...Freestyle, Kicking/Side Breathing, Training Structure/Safe Training Guidelines, Home Lanes/Wall Buddies, Do's/Don'ts of a Dolphin, and Always Having Fun! We will have Relay Thursday, May 2nd, for all Groups. 13/14's and 15/18's Training will be combined and combined training is 6:30 to 7:30 pm on Thursday. No 7:30 pm Training Time.
Communication...Thank you Dolphin Parents for the abundance of communication and whispers. I love it. Sometimes we do have swimmers who feel overwhelmed which even lead to added nerves and even tears. If you see this from the sidelines, please dont be afraid to whisper to closest coach. We will spread extra Dolphin confidence. Continue to email me, Coach Brett at [email protected]. Also, if you have a family member who is not receiving my Dolphin News, please add their email to your account (4 spots are available per family).
Dolphin Swim-a-Thon May 8th...Congrats Dolphins! We just crossed the 5K line this morning. Nico was last seen leading the charge along with all his 9/10 Buddies. As we continue to swim closer to our 10K Goal, we also want to see 100+ Dolphins Participate. If you did not hear, Top Family will win 90 minutes of Private Training by our Coaching Staff.
Dolphin Parent Volunteer Update....You should of received an email via Michelle yesterday. It looks like families are responsible for 4 volunteer jobs for summer dual meets. Michelle and Anne said it best, "it takes our Dolphin Village for our Dolphins to compete/perform at meets." Please sign up and get a job of your choice. Age Group Coordinators is a really rewarding job as you watch these Dolphins grow with confidence throughout the season.
More Upcoming Dolphin Events...We have an amazing Buddy Team and Social Team who are busy planning New Dolphin Events for even more excitement and Dolphin memories this season. May 23rd is Tie-Dye/Ice Cream Sundae Training Event. Swimmers will Tie Dye a white shirt and enjoy an Ice Cream Sundae before or after training. All Groups will still train at regular training times. Dolphins must bring their own shirts. Dolphin 2024 Buddy List will be released June 1st at Time Trials or before. June 1st is our first Dolphin Movie Night of the Season. June 9th @ PVC is Picture Day/Pancakes. More details to come.
Dolphin Buddies...This acts as a Big Sister/Little Sister and Big Brother/Little Brother Mentorship. Each 14 and under swimmer will be matched up with a season long Dolphin Buddy. If you Dolphin would like to opt out for any reason, we understand, just let Coach Brett know by May 10th. Also, if your 15/18 Dolphin would like to opt in, please let me know.
