Tyler Fonseca
Sr. Coach
Hello, my name is Tyler Fonseca, and I’m thrilled to be back coaching WCSC for my third year! Growing up on WCSC shaped many of my best memories. Summers with my friends and coaches were always the highlight of my year, and I’m excited to create that same experience for this year’s swimmers.
During the offseason I’m a Physical Education teacher at St. Francis of Assisi, am currently enrolled at DVC, and in my spare time I’m a personal trainer. Pool safety is a priority, so I should include that I’m EMT certified. I’m looking forward to all of the great moments and achievements that this Summer will bring!

I was a swimmer for 15 years at Woodlands and have coached there for the past 2 years. Currently, I attend San Diego State Univeristy, studying Kinesiology Pre-Physical Therapy. I am so excited to be coaching this summer! I love rec swimming and can’t wait to be a part of WCSC traditions. GO WCSC!
Lily Sanchez
Coach
Hi everyone! My name is Lily Sanchez, and I am so excited to be back coaching this summer! I’ve been a part of the WCSC family since I was 4 years old, spending every summer of my life on the pool deck with Walnut Creek. I loved every minute of it, and I can’t wait to dive into another amazing season.
This will be my first year as an official assistant coach, but I was a junior coach for many years while swimming, and coached volleyball for a few years as well. I am currently a student at Cal State Fullerton, and I’m thrilled to bring my passion for swimming and WCSC to this new role. See you all this summer—Go WCSC!
Bella Fonseca
Coach
Hello! My name is Bella Fonseca, and I’m thrilled to join WCSC as an assistant coach this season. I spent the past few years as a junior coach and have been part of the team for 11 years. The memories made here at Walnut Creek have been some of my best. I’m currently a student at DVC and a member of their swim team. I’m excited to share my love for swimming and WCSC with all of you this summer. I can’t wait to see you all!
Abby Sanchez
Substitute Coach
Hey WCSC! Although I’m taking a step back from full-time coaching this summer, I could not completely stay away! I’ll be popping in & out this summer to sub for the fabulous coaches when they need me. This team will always be so special to me and look forward to cheering you all on this summer, from near & far. I began swimming for Walnut Creek Swim Club when I was 6 and spent every summer on the pool deck with this team since, so it is safe to say WCSC has been a very big part of my life. This will be my 6th year as a coach, and I truly love it more than I loved swimming myself! During the rest of the year, I teach 3rd grade in Orinda.
