Coaches’ Update:
Last week was a very productive week of practice! We held meetings for our age groups, addressing DQs from time trials and resetting our focus on legal starts, turns, and finishes. We focused on all strokes, and are continuing to see growth in all areas. Our first dual meet is coming up right around the corner. We are excited to kick off the competitive portion of the season and get things into gear!

Reaching for the Stars - Recognition Program
On the bulletin board on the side of our Team shed, you can now find our swimmers achievements. Our Team Goals have defined times for each stroke per gender/age group. Each goal is determined by Red /White/ Blue /County times.
The board will be updated after each meet. It's an easy way to check when your swimmer asks “how far am I from….” and we already heard kids saying they will work hard to get their stickers!
The board will be at the pool sometime this week and is located in the display case on the side of the shed.
Congrats to Jaxon Wright, Nino Saint-Pierre, Cody Hartmiya, Riley Murphy for achieving county times at Time trials!
Meets:
Let’s get ready for our first meet on June 1st! Note this is an AWAY meet. Please read the Event Description for details on Gheringer Park as this is our first time going to their pool.
We are still receiving a lot of changes AFTER the deadline. Please SIGN OUT on time.
Apparel:
Purchase WCSC hats, silicone caps, license plate holders and more on WCSC Square Site. Contact us at [email protected] to coordinate pickup at practice or a home meet.
Purchase team apparel on Sports Birdee x WCSC. Products are shipped directly to your house. Contact [email protected] for questions.
Social Events:
June 11 Big Buddy/Little Buddy Picnic Parent Social- See below for picnic details, but after you drop your kid(s) off at the park, parents head down to the Gilmores’ House at 3165 Hudson Ave. to enjoy company and yummy apps. Please BYOB.
June 27 Swim Day at the SF Giants Game- Make a splash with us at Oracle Park for our inaugural Swim Day. Enjoy a day with friends, coaches and teammates as the Giants take on the Chicago Cubs. $5 from each special event ticket will benefit the Walnut Creek Swim Club.

Photo Day:
Photo Day is Thursday, June 20th during our practice time. No practice this day. Parents MUST opt-in via text to receive the ordering link and SPECIAL PROMOTIONS. If you are not ordering pictures please still plan on going to have your photo taken for our composite image.
Picture Day OPT-IN Details:
It's a new kind of picture day! For those that have photographed with us before, this change might be a little different. There is NO PREPAY (yay!), you just need to Opt-In/Subscribe via text message, before picture day. Once pictures are ready for ordering, all those that have opted-in via text will receive the private link and access code to place their orders. All orders are mailed directly to parents' homes. It's that easy! :)

Nightrider Updates
Big Buddy/Little Buddy Picnic is our first Nightrider event of the season coming up on Tuesday, June 11th! You must SIGN-IN to this event to be paired up with another buddy that is also attending.
Sign ups: Please RSVP for the picnic by TOMORROW Wednesday, May 29th. The link is on the events listed on OnDeck and Website, sign in or out as you would a meet.
Good Stuff to Know:
If your Swimmer is signed up for Individual Medley or Medley Relay, see below how to read the meet program and the order of the strokes for each event.
Marking Swimmer for Races: Reminder to write the races on your swimmers hand/arm/or back. If you have questions about this process, ask a returning family/parent or Jr. coach and they will be able to help you. This is important as it helps when volunteers are trying to make sure we have the correct swimmers lined up to race and sometimes you are dealing with people from other teams.
New Families:
I hope everyone had a great Memorial holiday weekend. Our next meet is at Gheringer Park on Saturday June 1st. Please arrive a few minutes before 8 am for warmups. The Meet information should be viewable in the app the day before the meet. Please pull up the races and mark your swimmers race number, stroke, heat and lane on their back, shoulder blade or top of hand to help with making sure the swimmers are where they are supposed to be and don't miss their race. Good luck to all swimmers.
