Coaches’ Update:
Our first official dual meet has been completed! It was a pleasure to see our swimmers compete! A special shout out to all the swimmers and families that were cheering and motivating our swimmers the whole time, as well as helping guide our new swim families. This is the culture we want to foster and keep building on.
One more week of afternoon practices, and then we are turning the page and moving into the next portion of the season, our personal favorite as a coaching staff. Our summer schedule is listed on the website, and we look forward to early mornings and working with our swimmers five days a week. Practices will continue to ramp up in intensity, and we will continue to hone in on specific areas week by week, while covering all four strokes, and racing techniques. Cheers to summer, and cheers to continued growth and culture building as a team!

WCSC vs. Gehringer Park Meet Results

What a great first meet with lots of exciting swims and races. While we didn’t win the overall score, our men did outscore them 208 to 167. Let’s get pumped up for two more exciting meets this week.
Ribbons
Ribbons from Gehringer Park will be available in a week or so. These will be filed into boxes that will be out on the picnic tables near the shed during practices. Results have been posted to the event and can be found on Meet Mobile. There is an issue with OnDeck so times may not be showing up in that app.

Private Lessons were emailed out and posted to the website on Sunday. Please review the guidelines for signing up. We added Laila Menchaca and Elyse Budke’s schedules to the page. PRIVATE LESSONS Must be signed in to view. Every level of swimmer will benefit from private lessons to work on dives, turns, breath work and stroke technique.
Jobs:
Thanks to all of the volunteers who participated in our first dual meet of the season! Here’s a couple of reminders to help make our future meets a success:
- Remember what job and when you are supposed to work - everyone working should be receiving email reminders and/or push notifications prior to your scheduled job.
- Be on time - this is key to make sure our dual meets start on time. Timers should be behind the blocks 15 minutes before the start of the meet.
- Remember to check-in - find Jenn Church, Jobs Assistant at the start of your shift to confirm you are present for your volunteer job or for any questions you have about your job assignment.
- Have fun, be respectful, and set positive examples for all of our kiddos!
All City is at the end of this month. More jobs information for this event will be available in upcoming newsletters. Stay tuned!

Nightrider Updates
Big Buddy/Little Buddy Picnic is our first Nightrider event of the season coming up on Tuesday, June 11th! Thank you for signing in to this event.
Pairings: We are now working to make pairings so each 10&under (little buddy) is paired with an 11&up (big buddy) for dinner and games! We are hoping to have these pairings posted at the pool during practice on Thursday.
What to do next: We ask that the big buddy brings dinner and the little buddy brings drinks/dessert to the picnic. Sometime between Thursday and next Tuesday, you will need to find your buddy and find out their favorite foods of choice. If you don’t know who your buddy is, ask any coach to direct you to find them.
All City:
The Walnut Creek All City Meet is just four weeks away! If you own a business or know someone who does, ask them to contribute to the program. It's both advertising for their business and promotes our event, which is well-loved by the City of Walnut Creek. OR if you want to give a shout out to your swimmer, coaches or team, you can purchase an "ad" for your swimmer. Please see our team website, click on the All City Tab and select either Advertising or Shout Outs. The proceeds from the advertising and shout outs fees come right back to our team!
New Families:
I hope you and your swimmers are meeting people, getting settled into the swim meet routine, and having fun. I enjoyed cheering on all our swimmers this past weekend and can't wait til Wednesday for our next home meet. Now that you have had 1-2 swim meets under your belt, please let me know if you have questions or if there is anything that isn’t making sense. I had a hard time understanding the heat sheets initially.
I will be there on Wednesday at the beginning of warmups, so please do not hesitate to come see me with your questions. It is supposed to be 95 degrees on Wednesday, so please don’t forget to bring tents, sunscreen, and chairs/blankets. Saturday looks to be around 77 degrees for the high.
If you are trying to figure out the various Apps to see how your swimmer is doing, I can help with that as well. Good luck to your swimmers! -Cari Dubois-Wright
