Meets:

What-a-meet against IVST! That will go down as one of the most exciting meets we have had in years!  It was incredible to see all of our swimmers race their hearts out!  We are so proud of you.  And it was energizing to witness the whole team and all friends and family cheering on every relay at the end.

 

This meet also shows how far we have come as a team. A year ago we lost to IVST 458 - 181, and Saturday we were very close to a win and only lost by 8 points!.

If your child is signed up to swim please make sure they understand how important it is to make their events, we had some scratches that may have been the difference in the meet. Let’s continue to race hard and we hope to see even more swimmers at upcoming meets.  Every race and relay counts to score points against DPST and WHO!

Jobs: 

All City Jobs were opened on Friday morning. Please make sure you have signed up for two jobs and either set-up or takedown. Our biggest needs are: marshall, snack bar, and afternoon clerk of the course. The All City Jobs DEADLINE is Thursday, June 20th. 

If you will not be attending the meet you still must sign up and fund a sub for your hours. We appreciate how hard everyone works all weekend to put on this amazing meet celebrating rec swimming in Walnut Creek!

Review your jobs signups for the rest of the season and make sure you have all five accounted for. If you need to make changes please email [email protected].

Photo Day:

Photo day is Thursday 6/20! Please sign-up HERE for your spot. You must Opt-In to be able to purchase. There is no practice this day. We will still have private lessons. 

Picture Day OPT-IN Details:  Text "2024WCSC" to 90738 to opt-in for picture day

It's a new kind of picture day! For those that have photographed with us before, this change might be a little different. There is NO PREPAY (yay!), you just need to Opt-In/Subscribe via text message, before picture day. Once pictures are ready for ordering, you will receive the private link and access code to order. All orders are mailed directly to parents' homes. It's that easy! :)  *Parents MUST opt-in via text to receive the ordering link.

Apparel: 

All City apparel should be available for purchase at practice the week of June 24th and we will keep you updated!

ACTION NEEDED: Conference meet is July 27-28th, also at Heather Farms and the Night Riders will be coming up with the theme. If you know your availability now, please sign IN/OUT for Conference via OnDeck so we can get accurate numbers to the apparel vendor. We also need swimmer t-shirt sizes, also via OnDeck.

Sign IN/OUT for Conference via OnDeck app: Select Events & Jobs dropdown-> Events & Meet Entries-> scroll down to CONFERENCE Meet @ Heather Farms Park July 27-28-> Select commitment->select swimmer’s name and answer No or Yes, and click green APPLY button on bottom right.

T-shirt size Instructions via OnDeck: click Membership tab ->dropdown to My Account->click Members->select your swimmer’s name->scroll right on the Profile line until you see Apparel->select Apparel, then Edit button at the bottom->go to Shirt size on right and drop down to select your swimmer’s size, Click SAVE

Social Events: 

6 & Under Social- Please RSVP on website!!  Tuesday, June 18, at the splash grounds at Larkey Pool after practice. This can be a drop off event. This is an event for swimmers and coaches only. 

7/8 Night Hike Group Social Please RSVP on website- Thursday, June 20, 7:00pm-8:30pm 

This event is for swimmers and coaches only. Drop off at 7:00pm at Shell Ridge Open Space near Indian Valley Elementary School.  Entrance to the open space is at the dead end of Marshal Dr. in Walnut Creek.

Make sure your child wears tennis shoes and brings a sweatshirt.  Pack an easy dinner (sandwich, chips, water).  Coaches will provide a treat at the end of the hike. Pick up at the same location at 8:30 pm

 9/10  Bowling and Pizza Social Please RSVP on website and pay $10 - Wednesday, June 26, 6:00-8:00 pm Clayton Valley Bowl and Pizza. This includes two hours of bowling/shoe rental (kids must wear socks) plus pizza and drinks 

-This event is for 9/10 swimmers and coaches only. Please drop off.

June 27th 6PM - Ladies Night

June 30th-after the meet

Come celebrate after the 36th All City Meet at Pinky’s Pizza in Walnut Creek. 

Pinky’s gives a portion of the money spent on food back to the team. It’s a great way to relax (or collapse) after the meet and celebrate for another excellent meet. And no one wants to cook Sunday night!

Coach Appreciation: 

6 & Under FAMILIES, Don’t forget this is your week (the week of June 17th)  to show your gratitude to our amazing coaching staff!  Please have your kids make a card, sign, or picture to bring one day to practice for Coach Alex, Coach Abby, and Coach Tyler and don’t forget the fabulous junior coaches that are in the water with them (Coach Emily is on vacation but will still be a part of the collective gift, if you contribute).  Click here for a sign-up genius and sign up to bring a special treat for them and/or our junior coaches.  Short on time…Venmo @Sawyer-Austin (last digits 5484) with the memo “6&under coaches appreciation” and I will put it towards a collective gift.  Once you sign up, if you need ideas for coaches'  favorite items, email me at [email protected].

9/10 FAMILIES. Dear 9/10 Families . . .We are the largest age group and let’s show it by showering the coaches with tons of appreciation during the week of June 24th. All City: 

The 36th Annual All City is next weekend! All City is our biggest fundraiser for the team. The team is able to pay all the pool rental fees for the year with the profit of this event, allowing us to keep low swim team registration fees (without membership fees). We thank you all for coming together to make this a great event. 

Schedule:

  • Friday 28th: Meet Set-up at 5pm; volunteers please check in with the Set Up Coordinator & Jobs Coordinator for directions. We’ll meet by south side gate by the snack shack on Heather Drive. Please wear WCSC team gear or team colors. The other teams are allowed in at 6pm to set-up their team areas. 
  • Saturday 29th: Warmups are at 7:50am. The meet begins at 9:00am.
  • Sunday 30th: Warmups are at 7:50am. The meet begins at 9:00am. Meet Take Down at around 3:30pm. 

New Families: 

The age group social events are coming up soon - Two are this week.. Please make sure you RSVP through the calendar/on deck app.  These are great team bonding gatherings with other swimmers and their coaches.  Have Fun!

  • The 6 and Under Team Event is June 18th from 10:30 am to noon. 
  • The 7 & 8 hike is June 20th from 7:00pm-8:30pm. They will learn more about the history of WCSC.  Meet at the entrance of Indian Valley Elementary School.
