Coaches’ Update: 

What an amazing weekend at All City Meet!!! Our swimmers were simply incredible! So many popped times and improvements as a team all around. It is clear that our team is growing in a beautiful way, and that we are a force to be reckoned with!

A special thanks to all the families that made this meet happen, you are all appreciated for your hard work.

We are at the point of the season where the ball is rolling, expectations are set, swimmers are working towards their goals, and we are a well-oiled machine.

 I (Coach Alex) am sad to be missing our yearly camping trip. I will be traveling to Greece on 7/5, and am returning the week before the Conference Meet. I am happy and confident to know that we have an amazing coaching staff that will be keeping the progress of this season moving forward. I will be thinking of the team, and will be back in a flash!

Meet Results:

Congratulations to all coaches and swimmers on an incredible set of swims and races at the All-City Meet!

With all the points our swimmers scored in A and B flights, WCSC came in 7th place overall!  This is our best result in years, and is a testament to the improvements our swimmers have made.  

To put this into context, see the table below showing the team placements in recent years.  In 2022, we scored 647 total points.  In 2023, we scored 833.  And this year, we scored 1043.  
 

Our next meet is on Wednesday, July 10 (away meet versus Rudgear Estates). Meet starts at 5 pm.

Jobs: 

Thanks to everyone who volunteered at All City! It can only happen because of everyone’s amazing contributions.

For those swimmer’s who were invited to the Woodlands Invitational, be on the lookout for a forthcoming email from jobs regarding responsibilities for the July 13th and 14th event.

Apparel: 

Way to represent WCSC with all the fun team apparel! 

NEXT UP: Conference t-shirts! Conference is July 27-28th and we’re working with the Nightriders so it will be a super fun design! 

**If you know your availability for Conference at Heather Farms on July 27-28th, PLEASE sign in/out via OnDeck so we can get total numbers to the vendor by July 5th so they can order the accurate number of apparel and reference the June 17th newsletter for detailed instruction of how to also add apparel size for your swimmer(s).

**Reminder, all swimmers who swim at Conference will receive a Conference t-shirt**

Social Events: 

• 11/12 Age Group Social Please RSVP on website and pay $10- Thursday, July 11, 2:00-4:00 pm. Minigolf and Fro Yo at Putter's Golf and Yogurtland This is a drop off event for 11/12  swimmers and coaches only. Includes Minigolf, swimmers should bring their own money for frozen yogurt.
• 13/14 Tuesday, July 16th @ Hurricane Harbor Concord WCSC supervision is from 11am - 3pm. Tickets are valid until 5pm. $20 per swimmer (unless you have a season pass). Bring money for food and drinks. Please note Hurricane Harbor does NOT accept cash. Bring a card or you can use their cash machines to put money on a Six Flags card to be used in the park. Please complete form and payment .This is an event for 13/14 age swimmers and coaches only. 
• 13 & Up Fancy Dinner Thursday, July 18 at 6:00 at Spaghetti Factory information and payment link will be sent to age group families.
• Family Movie- Save the date! Our team will have aprivate screening of the new Despicable Me 4 at Walnut Creek Cinemark Theater on Friday, July 12 at 5:30 pm!! Payment link will be coming!

New Families: 

Our WCSC Camping trip is coming up.  New families if you are joining us, bring your kiddos bikes, rafts, lawn chairs, towels, sunscreen, and get ready to hang out at the lake and at our campsites.  The kids tend to ride their bikes all around and have fun on the beach and in the lake during the day.  It looks like it is going to be hot up in Tahoe, so plan accordingly.  

Coach Appreciation: 

13/14 FAMILIES.  Don’t forget this is your week.  Our coaches worked so hard this weekend making sure all our swimmers were taken care of at All City! They maintained their enthusiasm, despite the heat, and kicked butt in the coaches relay!! We are counting on you to show a little love to our coaches on this very short week of practice.   Please have your kids make a card, write a letter or bring a token of gratitude to practice for Coach Alex, Coach Abby, Coach Emily and Coach Tyler and don’t forget the fabulous junior coaches.  Click here for a sign-up genius and sign up to bring a special treat for them and/or our junior coaches.  Short on time…Venmo @Sawyer-Austin (last digits 5484) with the memo “13/14 coaches appreciation” and I will put it towards a collective gift. 

7/8 FAMILIES. . . . This is our second largest age group and let’s use those numbers to make sure our coaches feel loved for the week of July 8th!  Our coaches have been showing up with a smile on their faces every day of practice, attending the age group socials, helping to make sure our swimmers were taken care of at All City, and will be attending our annual camping trip. Let’s pay back all their work with lots of love and appreciation!

All City: 

THANK YOU to all our wonderful families that worked hard all weekend long in the heat to pull this off. It was a huge weekend of work and hopefully lots of fun moments and laughs too. We can’t thank you all enough. 

Nightrider Updates:

TPing

Hoping that all that have been TPed have enjoyed! We have had few run-ins with neighbors concerned about the idea of us having this tradition, so if you have not been hit yet (and are on the TP list), as a just in case, let your neighbors know what might happen and that you have opted into it!

Conference visits!

Please make sure that if you are not attending Conference to sign out of the meet on Ondeck as soon as possible. Nightriders need to know exactly how many/who we are making posters/cookies for. Let me know if you have any questions about these deliveries!
