CONFERENCE MEET (ACTION NEEDED):

Sign in or OUT by Friday 7/11!!

Sign in or out of the Conference Meet if you have not already done so.  If you are undeclared you will be signed OUT. We really need to have all swimmers confirmed by Friday July 11th.. Thank you to everyone that has already signed in or out of the meet.

Select Three Events:

Each swimmer may participate in up to three individual events. (For 15/18s, 50 free does count as one of the three events.) Please use the note feature to indicate the three events that your swimmer would like to swim. As a reminder, these are suggestions and not selections. The coaches will keep the swimmers’ preferences in mind; however, your swimmer may not be assigned the exact three strokes/events they suggested. Leave in the notes if you have any time constraints which would not allow you to participate in relays.

Confirm swimmers shirt size:

Under your account on SportsEnigne and TeamUnify your swimmers will have a spot to list their shirt size. This is how we order the shirts for the conference swimmers. If this is not updated then they will likely receive the wrong size. Please go into your account and make sure the sizing is correct.

Order extra conference shirts by Friday 7/11:

If you’d like a parents t-shirt to match our Conference theme of ‘Swimmin’ in the Wild West’ or you have a swimmer that is not swimming at conference and would like a shirt please checkout on our WCSC square site: https://wcsc-walnut-creek-swim-club.square.site/

Coaches’ Update:

Dear WCSC Families,

We’re in our final month of our 2025 swim season and what a journey it’s been! Only two dual meets remain prior to our Walnut Creek Conference Championship! It would help me out greatly if you can go into your SEMotion app, and decline your swimmer(s) from our remaining swim meets that you know they will not be attending. You can also declare/commit them if you are positive they will be able to swim. Last minute changes after the deadlines can be stressful, so it would be awesome if you can take a look at your family’s schedule and either commit to or decline from the meets. Thank you very much in advance!

11&Up families: Please sign your swimmer up for a goal talk! Due to lack of sign-ups from 13&Ups we are opening it up to 11/12s as well. Thank you!

What a FUN Fourth of July weekend we had on our annual camping trip up at Camp Richardson in South Lake Tahoe! Many thanks to our wonderful families who hosted our team for breakfast and dinners at their camp sites, and to those who woke up bright and early to raise our team pop ups on the beach! Thanks to Stella Cabacungan for reserving our sites and for being our go-to gal for info about this special weekend. We always cherish the memories made with WCSC at Camp Rich!

The coaches would like to say a HUGE thank you to our very own WCSC parent and WCSC team alumni, Tammy deClercq, for her volunteering coaching our 11&Up age groups once a week! She has a wealth of swim knowledge, and has been instrumental in teaching specific techniques and drills to our older swimmers, modeling everything for them in-water. The coaching staff is also using Coach Tammy’s instruction to teach our younger age groups as well. We love you, Coach Tammy!

61st Annual Woodlands Invitational - This weekend we have 66 swimmers participating in this meet that hosts 15 teams from Contra Costa County. Come cheer on your teammates! Warm up times are SHORT so we want everyone ready to go with caps and goggles already on at least five minutes prior to our team’s time block. On Saturday we warm up from 7:40-7:50 in lanes 1-3, and on Sunday we warm up from 8:30-8:40 in lanes 4-6. The clerk of the course is swimmers only, aside from 8&U relays. Only one coach will be permitted in the clerk with the 8&U relay teams. While there will always be coaches present throughout the entire two-day meet, we might be rotating in/out at different times. Let’s show these teams what we’re made of! GO WCSC!

Let’s have a fantastic week! ❤️💙

Sincerely,

Coach emily[email protected]

Stroke & Turn Clinic - 7/20:

We are planning a clinic on Sunday July 20th from 9-11am. In order to best plan the clinic we'd like to gauge interest and availability. This is a great chance to get that extra practice before The Hox Last Chance Meet and Conference the following weekend.

Stroke & Turn Clinic Interest Form

OPTIONAL - Hox Last Chance Meet - 7/20:

The HOX Last Chance Meet at Blackhawk Country Club is coming up, and it's a great optional event that many of our swimmers have enjoyed in past years. Held on a Sunday afternoon/evening, this meet is a fun way to get more race experience before Conference, try for a County time, or just enjoy a relaxed day with swim friends. Swimmers can race the 50 Free up to three times and two opportunities to swim the IM. Best of all—no volunteer jobs are required! Just sign up, show up, and have fun. We will organize bringing some pop-ups and try and get enough space all together.

Once you are ready to sign up you will need to fill out the google from HOX LAST CHANCE ENTRY and pay for your events via our square HOX LAST CHANCE EVENT FEES. Must sign up by Thursday, July 17th at 4pm.

Nightrider Updates:

Please sign in/out of Conference ASAP so Nightriders can begin the poster and cookie making process! We’re hoping to have our numbers solidified by the end of the week.

We will be visiting every family who is participating at Conference on Thursday July, 24th in the evening to deliver signs and power cookies. We will send out a google form when it gets closer to get the address where your swimmer will be that evening to make our routes. It is difficult to make changes on the day so please try and have a plan ahead of time.

Coach Appreciation:

7/8 Families - You are our second largest age group so let’s use those numbers to make sure our coaches feel loved on Friday July 11th!   Our coaches have been showing up with a smile on their faces every day of practice, attending the age group socials, helping to make sure our swimmers were taken care of at All City. Let’s pay back all their work with lots of love and appreciation!

New Families:

Conference week will be here before you know it. Please plan to be home or join another family at their home, Thursday, July 24th in the evening after 5 pm. The Nightriders visit all families and provide your swimmers a fun surprise to wish them luck at Conference.  We have made cookies and cupcakes to give to them in the past when they arrived to our home and other times we have engaged in a watergun/water balloon fight with the Nightriders and coaches.  Feel free to make them a treat or spray them with waterguns. I want to wish all your swimmers the very best in the rest of their meets!
