DON SCHAUB INVITATIONAL MEET
Wednesday, July 9th, 2024 at Five Oaks Swim Club
The Don Schaub meet originally began as a small, local meet designed to give swimmers with less experience and skill a chance to gain self-confidence and win awards. It has grown into an annual tradition that young swimmers look forward to as their chance to shine.
The meet is named in honor of Mr. Don Schaub who has spent countless hours over many years as a volunteer swim coach at both Five Oaks and the Catonsville Y. He teaches children not only to swim, but helps them to reach their maximum potential through hard work and stroke technique. His enthusiasm is contagious and inspires a love of swimming. He is also known for sporting outrageous outerwear or a kilt. Mr. Don’s philosophy is very simple: Listen.
This is a popular meet! Unfortunately Five Oaks has to limit the number of teams that can participate due to parking and time. Therefore, this meet is limited to seven teams from across all divisions; about 400+ swimmers. Teams within Five Oaks' division are given first choice to attend. Invitations are then extended to those teams who have attended in the past or who have expressed interest.
