Nicholas Wilson Aquatics Director

Coach Nic is currently the Aquatics Director / Head Of Competitive Swimming at the International School of Beijing.

Coach Nic swam for South Africa and the continental African team in the early 2000's, and played provincial water polo at a junior and senior level. Highlights of his competitive swimming career include Olympic trials in 2004; being a multiple medalist at the All Africa Games in 2003; finalist in the 200m Free at Mare Nostrum, Canet Circuit in the same year; as well as being a multiple SA National Championship medalist across short course and Long course formats in the late 90's and early 2000's.

After finishing his competitive swimming career in South Africa, Coach Nic coached and taught swimming in his local town Durban, South Africa before getting a position in Far East Asia to coach swimming and Water Polo at Bangkok Patana School in Bangkok, Thailand. This started his International swim coaching career which is going into its 13th year abroad.

Coah Nic highest swim related qualification is the ASCTA Silver License.

 

 

 

Joe Zheng Junior Squad Coach

Joe is a swim teacher, squad coach for the Academy and Varsity Seasonal Coach.

Joe Zheng has been working at ISB for the over 15 years. Joe has been apart of the Varisty seasonal team and year round swimming, as well as an intergral part of the curriculum swimming at ISB. 

Joe has many high level Chinese Federation swimming certifications, as well as ASCA (American Swimming Coaches Association) level 4 which is leadership and club management, as well as ASCTA (Australian Swim Coaches and Teachers Association) 'Teacher of Competitive Strokes' award. 

 

Arthur Wang Junior Squad Coach
Arthur Wang who is working in ISB for 17 years as Swimming coach with strong experience , and also have the certifications as American swimming coach association level 4, Teacher of compective swim ASCTA, and the the waterfront course of Paddle Canada. 
As the part of Aquatic department staff, Arthur is also the EMERGENCY RESPONDER (CPR/AED/First Aid-Adult/Child/Infant) in order to keep the eviorment and students safety. 
Amy Xu Assistant Swim Coach

Amy was on the Canadian National Team, and was coached by Paul Bergen, one of the top 10 American coaches. She went to the 2008 and 2012 Canadian Olympic Trials, with her main events being distance freestyle.

Amy studied in Utah and Colorado and received her Master’s in Sport and Performance Psychology. For 3 years in Denver, she coached for the University of Denver Hilltoppers, a top 50 club in the US. During Amy’s time at Hilltoppers, she coached two 11-year old girls and boys who were ranked in the TOP 3 in the State of Colorado and TOP 10 in the country for their age.

Amy has a comprehensive understanding of the American and Canadian age group programs, based upon her growing up and swimming in the two respective countries. She values individual growth, development, and happiness for the sport of swimming. 

 

Jenny Deng Swim Office Assistant

Jenny is a swimming department assistant at ISB since 2018, computer science and technology bachelor.  she was working for a Gym as a swimming coach and supervise the swimming pool for 4 years, and got experiences on swimming pool organization.
Jenny's daily work:
     1. assist hosting swimming competitions and PE classes
     2. co-work with other departments 
                                          3. consult for parents and students
                                          4. other swimming pool arrangements

Ariel Wu Upper Level Swim Coach

Ariel Wu was the professional swimmer of Chinese national team member over 5 years, and moved to Ireland and be the swimming coach for 6 years. 

In 2015, Ariel started to working in ISB as the swimming coach and the apart of varistiy coach for 4 years. Basic the strong working experience, she got the certificaitons as American swimming coach assoication level 4, the baby and preschool swimming teacher of UK, the teacher of competitive Stroke's award of ASCTA. 

 

Board of Directors
