WHAT YOU NEED FOR PRACTICE

  • Practice suit(s) - one-piece swimsuit (no frills or bows) for girls, swim briefs or jammers (no trunks or board shorts) for boys. Please do not wear your competition suit to practice. 
  • Goggles - well-fitted, comfortable swim goggles without a nose covering. No scuba masks or other nose covering. 
  • Swim cap - appropriately sized to fit all of a swimmer's hair. 
  • Towel - quick-drying towels or chamois recommended.

 

WHAT YOU NEED FOR A SWIM MEET

  • Gators racing suit
  • Goggles
  • Gators swim cap

Swim meets can run long and a swimmer's races are spread across the day. It's important to be prepared for a meet so you and your swimmer have a good time and are comfortable.

Tips

  • Wear layers - the pool deck will be warm, but the gym will not be.
  • Bring a chair and/or blanket
  • Bring water and snacks, or money for concessions
  • Bring a black sharpie to write swimmers' events on their arms

Swimmer's packing list suggestions for meets:

  • Competition suit, cap, goggles
  • 2 towels
  • Flip flops/crocs/water shoes to wear to and from the pool deck 
  • Water bottle
  • Sweatpants and Sweatshirt to wear between events
  • Book/device/games to keep them entertained
