2022-2023 Rose Bowl Aquatics Group Descriptions
Senior Division
National
- Practices 6-7 times per week, including morning practices
- Multiple dryland and weights sessions per week
- For swimmers 15 years old or older/entering Fall of 9th grade
- Have achieved a Futures qualifying time
- Able to complete the following test sets: 10x100 Free @1:10; 5x200IM @2:30; & 10x100 Kick @1:35
- Committed to attending highest qualified championship meet for the season
- Shows leadership skills in and out of the pool, great attitude with teammates and coaches, and elite level work ethic.
- Demonstrates proficiency and consistency in practice skills such as tight streamlines, able to complete 25s underwater with no breath, 3-7 dolphin kicks off walls for fly/back/free, and able to maintain breathing patterns for fly/free.
- Placement in this group will be at coaches’ discretion.

Senior 3
- Practices 6-7 times per week, including morning practices

- Able to complete the following test sets: 10x100 Free @1:15; 5x200IM @2:50; & 10x100 Kick @1:45

- Shows leadership skills in and out of the pool, great attitude with teammates and coaches, and elite level work ethic.

- Able to complete the following test sets: 10x100 Free @1:25; 5x200IM @3:00; & 10x100 Kick @1:50
- Committed to attending highest qualified championship meet for the season
- Shows leadership skills in and out of the pool, great attitude with teammates and coaches, and attentive to coaches
- Demonstrates proficiency in practice skills such as tight streamlines, 2-3 dolphin kicks off walls for fly/back/free, and able to maintain breathing patterns for fly/free.

- Practices 2-4 times per week, including multiple dryland sessions per week
- For swimmers 15 years old or older/entering Fall of 9th grade
- Able to legally complete all four strokes

- Demonstrates proficiency in practice skills such as tight streamlines and turns

13-14 Division
13-14 Gold
- For swimmers 13-14 years old
- Have achieved 3 or more 13-14 Summer JO’s qualifying times
- Practices 4-6 times per week, including morning practices
- Multiple dryland sessions per week
- Able to complete the following test sets: 10x100 free @1:20; 5x200IM @3:00; & 10x100 Kick @1:45
- Committed to attending highest qualified championship meet for the season

- Practices 4-6 times per week, including morning practices
- Multiple dryland sessions per week
- Able to complete the following test sets: 10x100 free on 1:30; 3x200IM on 3:10; & 10x100 Kick @1:55
- Committed to attending highest qualified championship meet for the season
- Shows leadership skills in and out of the pool, great attitude with teammates and coaches, and attentive to coaches
- Placement in this group will be at coaches’ discretion.

- For swimmers 13-14 years old
- Practices 3-5 times per week, including multiple dryland sessions per week
- Able to legally complete all four strokes
- Pass dive progression and legal turns per stroke
- Introduced to and prepared for dryland exercises as part of weekly practice structure
- Compete in multiple USA Swimming sanctioned meets throughout the season
- Shows leadership skills in and out of the pool, great attitude with teammates and coaches, and attentive to coaches
- Adopt a growth mindset
- Demonstrates proficiency and consistency in practice skills such as tight streamlines, efficient bodyline, 1 dolphin kick off walls for fly/back, and able to maintain efficient and proficient breathing for fly/free.
