USA Swimming and the Summit Area YMCA are committed to fostering a fun, healthy, and safe sport environment for all its members. We all must recognize that the safety of swimmers lies with all those involved in the sport and is not the sole responsibility of any one person at the club, LSC, or national level. This means that everyone—national office, coaches, officials, parents, and athletes—is essential to creating a culture where all forms of misconduct are intolerable and eliminated as soon as possible.

USA Swimming Member clubs were required to implement the USA Swimming Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAPP) in full by June 2019. MAAPP contains five sections: one-on-one interactions, travel, social media and electronic communications, locker rooms and changing areas and massage, rubdowns and athletic training modalities. For more information see the links below.

Our Safe Sport Recognized status will run until ______, after which time we will be eligible to renew by reviewing all of our policies and procedures again. We are excited to have achieved this milestone and demonstrate our commitment to providing a Safe Sport environment on this team.
