Coto Swimmers Excel Day 1 Of WAG

It was an unbelievable 1st day at the Winter Age Group Championship Meet as many of our Coto Swimmers medaled or placed in the top 16.  Here are some of the highlights:  Morgan King made finals and medaled in both of her events placing 2nd in the 400 IM and 3rd in the 100 breast. Brandon and Shannon also made finals, Brandon in the 100 free and Shannon in the 200 back placing 3rd and 8th respectively. Our female 1000 freestyle swimmers Paige Pratt, Abby, Shayna, and Jill Kennedy blew away previous best times all around. All three 13-14 girls placed in the top 16. Shayna also swam a top 16 100 breast.  Jill medaled in the 1000 free placing 6th for 15&ups.   Our 15&up boys 800 free relay killed it with all four swimmers going under 2:00 and Andrew Cusator blazing to a 1:55 for his first sub 2 minute 200 free.  Our 13-14 boys relay also finished in the top 16.  In the 12&under session Paige grabbed 3rd in the 100 fly, Alexa was 6th in the 100 breast, and Jonathan was 7th in the 100 breast. Emily Vye, Rhys, and Tommy also swam top 16 times, Emily in the 50 free, Rhys and Tommy in the 500 free.  Our 11-12 boys 400 free relay ended the session with a top 16 time.  The latest info at the end of the day had our Coyote girls in 5th with 106 points, and our boys in 12th with 46.  Check back for updates and combined scores tomorrow.  Congratulations to these champions and ALL of our swimmers today and stay tuned for more great swimming on days 2 and 3!
