Exceptional Swimming Continues into Day 2 of WAG

Stellar swimming continued into day 2 of the Winter Age Group Champs Meet.  Morgan King again brought her "A" game qualifying in both her events today and finishing 8th in the 500 free and 4th in the 200 IM in finals this evening.  Another double qualifier Brandon Boval finished the day 5th in both the 100 back and 200 IM.  Allie Nishimi dropped 3 seconds in her 100 backstroke to qualify for finals placing 10th, and Kellie Fecarotta placed 7th in the 200 fly.  Kellie also finished in the top 16 of the 500 freestyle.  13&up relays contributed heavily to the point total with nearly every relay finishing in the top 16.  Our 12&under swimmers had one of their best days ever with double medal winners Paige Bernhardt and Jonathan Cheng leading the charge.  Paige finished 5th in the 50 fly and 6th in the 200 free and swam to a top 16 finish in the 50 back. Jonathan finished 3rd in the 100 IM and 7th in the 50 back.   Alexa Bird swam 3rd in the 200 free and 9th in the 50 back.  Other 200 freestyle top 16 finishers were Emily Vye, Caroline Needell, Matt Lynch, Rhys Empey, and Tommy King.   The 10&under boys 200 free relay finished 4th, the highest place ever for a Coyote relay team in a championship meet.  The 10&under girls finished 6th in the 200 free relay and the 11-12 boys swam to a top 16 finish in the 200 medley relay.  The girls ended the day in 8th place with 241 points and the boys held 13th place with 119 points.  There's sure to be more exciting swimming tomorrow, the 3rd and final day of the meet.
