Coyotes End WAG With Record Finish
Our Coto Coyote team finished the Winter Age Group Champs meet this weekend scoring almost 1000 points, a record for any Coyote team at a Champs Meet! Morgan King finished her meet with a 4th place in the 200 breaststroke and a 10th in the 200 freestyle breaking the 2 minute barrier in that event for the first time. Brandon added 3 more medals to his collection with a 3rd in the 200 free, a 2nd in the 100 fly, and another 3rd in the 50 free. Our female milers finished strong with a 4th place medal for Jillian Kennedy and 7th and 8th place medals for Abby McShane and Paige Pratt respectively. Max Walsh had top 16 swims in the mile and the 50 freestyle. Andrew Cusator qualified for finals and earned a 10th place in the 200 breast. Other top 16 finishers were Shayna Vayser and Shannon Mack in the 200 breast, and Kellie Fecarotta in the 100 fly. Our 12&unders were equally impressive with Jonathan Cheng and Alexa Bird each earning 3 medals today. Jonathan finished 2nd in the 200 IM, 3rd in the 100 back, and 3rd in the 50 breast. Alexa swam 8th in the 200 IM, 6th in the 100 back, and 7th in the 50 breast. Paige Bernhardt also medaled with a 6th in the 200 IM and an 8th in the 50 breast. Other top 16 finishers included Rhys Empey in the 200 IM, Tommy King, Matt Lynch and Tahlia Vayser in the 50 breast, and Emily Vye in the 100 free. Every relay on the Coyote team scored and added to our record point total. At the final tally, Coyote boys and girls combined for an 8th place finish in a field of at least 46 teams!
