JAG Concludes for Coyote Age Group Swimmers
A highly competitive June Age Group Champs meet ended today with many successful, fast swims for our Coyotes. The younger Coyotes again had an exciting afternoon! Our 200 freestylers started it off with Rhys Empey finishing 15th, Tommy King medaling with 3rd, and Jonathan Cheng and Bailey Wilhelms finishing 11th and 13th respectively. Our 50 breast strokers owned the meet with Tommy (4th), Rhys (16th), Alexa Bird (1st), Tahlia Vayser (10th), Caroline Needell (12th), Emily Vye (14th), and Chris Lu (14th) all scoring some major points for the Coyotes. The afternoon concluded with the boys 11-12 relay medaling with 3rd, and the 11-12 girls swimming to 15th in the 400 free relay. Congratulations to Alexa for her gold medal in the 50 breast, her second gold of the meet! Tommy also had an outstanding meet medaling in all 6 of his individual events and 2 relays.
Our 13&up swimmers also had a busy day with 3 of our 1500 freestyle swimmers taking home medals. Jill Kennedy had an amazing 1500 earning 3rd, Paige Pratt swam to 8th, and Aaron Magazine earned 6th. Kellie Fecarotta also medaled with a 6th place in the 50 free. Other top 16 finishers included Sarah Niemi with 12th in the 200 fly and Shayna Vayser with 13th in the 100 breast. The 13-14 girls also swam to 14th place in the 400 free relay.
The Coyotes finished 11th this year in a field of close to 60 teams! Congratulations to all of our champions!
