Elite Otters Coach and 4 Swimmers Chosen For SoCal Swimming All Star Festival

PALM SPRINGS, CA – January 8, 2022– ELITE Otters Swim Team announced today that 4 of their very own swimmers were chosen to compete in the Southern California All Star Festival. 

The Southern California Swimming All-Star Festival meet will be held the last weekend of January (22-23) in Las Vegas, NV at Pavilion Center Pool.  SCS All Star Festival represents the best of Southern California Swimming. Selected swimmers are divided up into four teams, North, South, East, and West. Swimmers in the 10&U, 11-12 and 13-14 Age Groups will be selected for this team based on the combined results from competitions ranging from September 1-Winter CA/NV Sectionals.  In order to qualify, swimmers must have a minimum of 2021 Winter Age Group qualifying times. The stellar swimmers (and coach) listed below are considered top 32 best athletes in SoCal:

  • Casey Hecht, age 10
  • Daniela Scott age 12
  • Shayna Hecht age 12
  • Ava Otteson age 13
  • Coach Laura Otteson
Junior Age Group  Coach Laura Otteson was also selected to coach at the All Star Festival.  Coach Laura commented,  " I'm beyond excited to be a part of the coaching staff for the All Star Festival.  The energy levels are insane , and the talent is beyond incredible at the (All Star) Festival every year. I'm also thrilled to have 4 swimmers selected  to compete.  It's such an honor to be chosen! "
