MPSC Grand Prix #2
The MPSC Grand Prix meet was the largest meet for the Riptides. We sent 17 swimmers to compete, many for the first time. The meet went well and Coach Justin did a great job of handling all the swimmers (despite being a wee-bit late to the pool!).
Jack King led all swimmers with the largest improvement of over 31 seconds in the 12/Under boys’ 100 back. Not far behind were Andi Churchill with a 27 second drop in the 12/Under girls’ 200 free and Noah Cruz, who improved over 25 seconds in the 12/Under boys’ 100 backstroke. Megan Prouty also saw the 20-second barrier of improvement in the 12/Under girls’ 100 butterfly.
Chad Bateson, Eddie Bateson, Andi Churchill, Noelle Cruz, Jack King, "Wonka" Lewis, and Megan Prouty were all 100% in improved personal best times.
Swimming for the first time or in their second meet were McKenzie Angwin, Camille Beck, Gabriel Blythe, Noah Carter, Connor Churchill, Danielle Flaherty, Zary Gouin and Quinna Muthard.
While the Riptides had a fiar share of dq’s, the GP Series continues to be a great opportunity for our swimmers. The next GP meet will be December 6, at the SMRT Grand Prix in Charleston. Our goals will be to have fewer dq’s, more fast times, and lots and lots of fun! Click HERE for complete results.
