RAYS Snowflake Invite

The RAYS Snowflake Invitational was the final meet of the 2008 calendar year for the Riptides.  Six swimmers traveled to Rock Hill with Coach Justin for another fine meet.

Chad Bateson four personal best times, including a team leading 15 second improvement in the 100-butterfly.  Chad's other best times were in the 100-IM, 200-free and 50-fly.

Eddie Bateson tied for most best times with five!  Eddie swam to personal best's in the 100-IM, 50-back, 200-free, 50-fly and 50-free.

Andi Churchill equaled Eddie's lead in best times with five!  Andi also had the second largest improvement of over 11-seconds in the 50-fly.  Andi's personal best's were in the 100-IM, 50-back, 50-free and 50-breast.

Younger brother Connor competed for the first time in six events and earned a personal best in the 50-back.

Danielle Flaherty seven brand new events, becoming a more well-rounded young swimmer.  Andi, Connor and Danielle, who normally compete in the 12/Under Grand Prix Series took a huge step going to the Snowflake Invite.  The coaching staff is proud at the minimal number of dq's - 3!

Completing the contingent to Rock Hill was Megan Prouty.  Megan got off to a rough start getting kicked in the face during the warm-up on Saturday, but like a true competitor, Megan stepped and swam fast to four personal best times.  Megan's largest improvement was the 100-backstroke by almost 9-seconds.  Megan also improved in the 100-IM, 50-free and 200-free.

Congratulations to all of our swimmers on a job well-done.  2009 looks to be promising with the goal of achieving higher levels of competition for all of our swimmers.
