Lexi Roberts continues her assault on the Riptides’ 10/Under girls records establishing four more records this season.  New records were set in the 100- and 200- IM’s, 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke.  Roberts now owns 10/12 current records.

Competing for the first time as Riptides were Joel Cox, Sasha Riley and Maggie Warner.

Head coach James Smith commented how impressed he and assistant coach Mary Churchill were with the performances from the swimmers.

“We are in the beginning of the toughest part of our training for many of our swimmers.  For them to still be achieving best times, as tired as they are, is a good sign,” Smith said.

“The meet was a very good event for our team.  It’s not often during a season that a meet will allow the entire team to be together to cheer for each other.  Our swimmers took advantage of this opportunity to get to know each other better,” Smith continued.

University of San Diego vs Loyola Marymount -
Out on the west coast, University of San Diego junior Keenan Lineback and her Torero teammates competed in a dual meet versus Loyola Marymount University.

Lineback led the Toreros to an eventual victory by taking the top spot in three events – 500- and 1000-freestyles and 200-butterfly.

GA Southern vs College of Charleston
Back on the east coast, GA Southern sophomore Lauren Campbell helped the Lady Eagles secure a win versus the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC.

Competing a rare short-course meters formatted meet, Campbell was able to score points for the Lady Eagles with a win in the 200-m butterfly and 3rd place finishes in the 800-m free and 200-m backstroke.
