Laurie Morrin Coaching Staff

SCSC Team Manager

Safe Sport Coordinator for SCSC

Laurie has been involved in the sport of swimming for the last 30 years in the Charleston area, during most of which she was the Competitive Team Manager for Mount Pleasant Swim Club. On the wet-side, Laurie has taught swim lessons for 25 years, been a lifeguard for 10 years, and coached year-round swim clubs (MPRD and SCSC) for 15 years.

A little bit about Laurie's history in swimming: When a military move took her family to California at age 12, Laurie became a “water rat.” Since then she has been involved with anything water-related: swim team, scuba, water polo, surfing, and water skiing. After moving to South Carolina in 1991, she helped to start a summer league program in her neighborhood, kicking off her career as a swim coach. She married John Morrin in 1986 and both her children were Division 1 swimmers: Danielle and Travis Morrin.

The best thing about being a SCSC is seeing the kids be proud of all of their accomplishments, whether in or out of the pool.  It’s very rewarding to not only see the kids you coach do great things in practice every day, but to see them come in after school and tell you what great things they achieved at school as well.  I love being able to coach kids not only to be a good athlete, but to be a good person as well.

Victoria Ratliff Coaching Staff

Victoria is originally from Morristown, New Jersey where she swam competitively for over 8 years before moving to South Carolina and attending Coastal Carolina University. She originally started coaching summer swim teams before coming to SCSC and loves trying out new things during practices to keep swimmers interested and motivated. During the swim season, Victoria is most excited for swim meets where the swimmers can show off their talent, get into the competitive mind-set, and rally together to cheer on teammates! When she's not at the pool, whether it's coaching or swimming herself, you can find Victoria reading, painting, or taking quick road trips to Pawleys Island; her favorite place in SC!

Graham Cooper Coaching Staff

I am originally from Charlotte, North Carolina where I swam competitively for 12 years. I swam collegiately for the University of North Carolina-Wilmington from 2016-2020. I started coaching summer league swim teams back in college and also have experience working with swim schools. I moved to Charleston in the early part of 2023, now that I have settled in I decided it was time to get involved with swimming again. Swimming played a huge part in my life growing up and I hope to pass the knowledge and lessons I learned from the sport to others.
