Welcome to the Team:

We would like to extend a warm welcome to the following swimmers who have recently joined LVSC. Please make an effort to say hi if you see these swimmers or their families on deck and welcome them to the team.

Suggestions/ Questions/ Ideas for the Board:

LVSC is continually working on creative a positive, inclusive, and welcoming team environment and we always encourage our families to become active and involved. If you have any suggestions, questions, or ideas that you would like heard/ discussed at any of our monthly board meetings, please email or speak to any board member. We will address and discuss all inquiries at our regularly scheduled monthly meetings.

Competitive Aquatic Supply and Speedo Partnerships:

Thank you to all of our families who have visited and purchased from our new online team store, Competitive Aquatic Supply. We are excited to continue partnering with Speedo and for all of our team supplies to now be easily purchased through the Competitive Aquatic Supply website. You can access the team store directly from our team unify site, or visit the Competitive Aquatic Supply website --> chose team stores --> LVSC. All speedo items purchased through the site have a 20% built in discount. As we continue to expand our team offerings, you will be able to purchase suits, parkas, gear bags, practice equipment such as fins and kick boards, team warm- up and sweatshirts, and the occasional specialty item. Competitive Aquatic Supply will also be on deck during portions of our upcoming Winter Classic swim meet to help with any of your last minute swim needs!

LVSC Annual Awards Banquet:

The 2024 annual team awards banquet will be held on Saturday, February 3^rd at 5:00pm at the Suncoast Hotel and Resort. This is one of our favorite events of the year! It is an opportunity to celebrate all the hard work and achievements of the team, to recognize outstanding swimmer achievements in 2023, and most importantly have some fun! Dinner will be provided, award and prizes will be given, and our very own DJ Logie will get us all on the dance floor!

All attendees much have a ticket to enter the event, this includes swimmers and coaches.
All ticket purchases will be charged to your LVSC account unless purchasing on deck during our swim meet January 26^th – 28^th. Payments received during this meet can be cash or check.
All LVSC Swimmers are free!
Swimmers must have an adult chaperone. If you are not able to attend with your swimmer, please arrange for another swim parent to chaperone.
Adults $ 60, Children ages 4 – 10 $30, Children under 4 are free

Tickets will be available for purchase the following days and times this week:

Wednesday, January 17^th at Pavilion from 4:30 – 6:00 in the lobby

Thursday, January 18^th at Pavilion from 4:15 – 7:00 in the lobby

Friday, January 19^th at Pavilion from 5:00 – 8:15 in the lobby

Saturday, January 20^th at Pavilion from 9:30 am – 2:15 in the lobby

Fri January 26^th, Sat January 27^th, Sun January 28^th on deck during the Winter Classic Swim Meet

Monday, January 30^th at MUNI from 5:45 – 7:45 in the lobby

Volunteer Hours:

As a reminder, each LVSC family is responsible for 10 volunteer hours every 6 months. 10 hours must be completed during the January – June time period and then again from July – December. Any hours not completed will be charged a $25 per hour rate at the end of the six months. ** If any family is interested in paying a discounted rate of $200 at the beginning of any six- month period, they will receive credit for all 10 hours and will not be required to complete any physical hours for that 6- month time period. Please email [email protected] for more information or to set up your payment. *** LVSC will be hosting the upcoming Winter Classic at Pavilion Pool Friday January 26^th, Saturday January 27^th, and Sunday January 28^th. This is a great opportunity to get a head start on 2024’s volunteer requirement! Please watch for the job sign- up to be sent out soon!

2024 Summer League:

We are currently finalizing the details for our 2024 Summer League! Summer League is a great opportunity for newer swimmers to gain additional practice and competition experience in a low- stress and fun environment. Please watch for registration deadlines and more details to be sent out soon!

Dryland:

Increasing swimmer dryland attendance, focus, and commitment is a goal we are continuing to work on in 2024! We know that the dedication and work our swimmers’ put into their dryland training will strengthen their confidence, ability, and endurance in the water!

Non- Swimming Achievements and Accomplishments:

LVSC’s goal is to create healthy, well- rounded, creative, and positive swimmers who excel not only in the water but in the community as well. In each newsletter, we hope to highlight swimmers who have been recognized for their achievements outside of the pool. If your swimmers has an accomplishment you would like highlighted in the next newsletter, please email [email protected]. Examples: academic honor roll, scholarships, citizen or community involvement awards, other athletic or sports awards/ medals/ recognitions.

LVSC Munchkinfest 2024 at Pavilion Pool

Open to all swimmers in the gator, green, and silver groups.

14 and under SCS Spring Age Group Championships in Pasadena, California

Thursday March 14^th – Sunday March 17^th

Qualifying Meet, swimmers must meet time standards to enter. Standards can be found on socalswimming.org.
